i had to refrain from posting until the sadness and disbelief abated. got pretty emotional after that debacle.

where to start? coach that's where. not because he's a moron, obviously he's intelligent, but because if ever a new voice was needed it's now. after the oiler sweep, i momentarily believed in maurice. but it was the usual 1 step forward and 2 back with him. i personally had him gone a couple years ago. just too many examples of him not changing things when the selected course wasnt working. "i don't even coach those guys". who says that?! i stopped watching his pressers long ago but if it's true what some of you say; that he looks demoralized, then we can only hope he steps down. i have my doubts
the org will fire him when he absolutely should be fired. if the org can't recognize this, then they quite simply dont share the same desire to win as the fans do.

i don't know what they're going to do with wheeler. his salary will handicap chevy when it comes to getting legit dmen. and his play will increasingly handicap the team as he continues to age out. i have it on good authority that wheeler is not a good cappy off the ice. started his bullshit back in buff's last season. i wont elaborate on here about this. suffice to say wheels developed a bit of a god complex and buff didnt care for it. it's for sure part of the reason buff pulled the pin. this wont come as a surprise to some as these kinds of issues have been mentioned before on this board. i realize wheeler is practically unmovable but they need to try and move on from him. if they can't, then they need to start minimizing his role and his minutes. adam lowry should be the captain of this team.

i'm still on chevy's side but not for much longer. if this team isnt a serious contender in another couple years he needs to go as well.

Yep done with Chevy after the defense he iced this year. Absolutely insane.

I didn't have high expectations for our D this year. But I did expect DeMelo to play with Morrissey. That would have made quite a difference, IMO. JMo was playing with Poolman again in this series. You get what you pay for. That is not on Chevy but on Mau, and on injury.

But even with DeMelo out, Poolman should not have been playing 1st pair.

This roster did well to finish in the final eight. Twenty-three other teams would have liked to have been there. With time we'll realize that it was a crazy, anomalous season that you can't really use as the basis for sweeping (!) conclusions about anyone. With Dubois, we could come out of it signing a very good player for good value. The team will obviously have a better idea what the reasons were for his unimpressive play.

WOW - shots on Goal ------- 44---- for Montreal

and all we had is only just-- 16 -- for the Jets.

Did the Jets show up to play ? I think the Shots say it all.

I think it's time for a Coaching change - numbers say it all.

We need a "winner" kick ass Coach like Patrick Roy, who wants to Coach again. C'est Bon

Good Luck next Year to the Jets, and our great Board. :)

Have a great relaxing summer !!!

Would they buy out Wheeler?

First of all, I would like to thank all of those great GDT creators! You guys are the reason this season was fun, as it certainly was not the play of our team.:banghead:

Secondly, I would like to thank each and every one of you who are on HF-Jets and regularly post. You all have lots of differing opinions and thoughts, and that's what this forum is all about. We all can't think the same way, as long as we all can be civil, I am open to continue reading your posts!

Thirdly, thank you all for putting up with me this season. I have been a lurker on this message board since the Jets returned, but I hardly ever posted until this year. I tried to bring a bit of humour to my posts, and just like Nate Thompson, I was...

Although, I don't know what I'm going to do when he's gone next season...:puppy:

Lastly, I am a passionate Jets fan! I have loved the Jets since I was a little kid back in the old WHA days. When the team moved to Phoenix, it was like a piece of my life was gone. I quit watching the NHL and could care less about hockey. For fifteen years, my life was missing something... So you know how thrilled I was when the team returned! It has certainly been a lot of ups-and-downs, but in the end, it's great to have an NHL team in Winnipeg, even if they disappoint the crap out of me....

I don't know what is going on with this team, but something is wrong. Is it the chemistry with the players? Is it the coaching? Is it the General Manager? Is the team not getting along with Dancin' Gabe? Okay, okay, everybody likes Gabe, so it can't be that. So what is wrong? I can't answer any of that, but I do know changes need to be made and let's hope they can get it done. I love my Jets, but when they play so uninspired hockey, it saddens me to no end. How the hell can a team with such talent be so damned lethargic? I will always cheer for my team through think and thin, but I will always call them out when they disappoint me...

See you guys at the draft (either expansion or entry). Take care and Go Jets Go! :hockey:

P.S. I hope my post gets the...

Dedicated to this great group on HFB Jets - My version of Sonnet 27, Wm S

tattooed-shakespeare-mathew-mcfarren.jpg

Weary with toil, I haste me to my bed,
The dear repose for limb and brain and fandom tired;
But then begins a journey in my head,
To work my mind, when body's work's expired:
For then my thoughts, from far where I abide,
Intend a rehash of machination on HFB we,
And keep my drooping eyelids open wide,
Looking on games, some on bended knee
Save that my likeminded friends' bless'd insights
Presents illumination to my sightless view,
Which, like a jewel hung in ghastly night,
Makes the losses easier and her old face new.
Thus, by day my limbs, by night my mind,
For thee and for myself some solace find.

Thanks again for all the humour and intelligent banter in this place.

Here's to next year.

Very disappointing series with Montreal but this was a fun year on HF Jets, really gave us something to do during this Covid stuff. Next season hopefully we see a few changes that get us further in the playoffs . Have a great summer and as the Dude always says.....
