What was the Q?

It was from Murat, his connection wasn't great which may have made it worse, but it was a rambling like question about zone time and the forecheck from Montreal and you say you don't have Scheifele but Montreal doesn't have one either so is that underwhelming?

There was probably a good point buried in there but definitely deserved a "sure".

Thanks.

He probably could’ve said something like, “You don’t have Scheifele but MTL’s 1C had the same number of points of Lowry during the regular season, and they still outscored you.”

Something along those lines.

Where’s the accountability wheeler? What a bunch of excuses… I am still salty we resigned this guy instead of paying for Laine.
Paul Friesen: “ what were your teams shortcomings”

Wheeler: “I don’t look at it that way”

And therein lies the problem. No accountability from leadership.

At least he didn’t tell him to F-off.

WOW - shots on Goal ------- 44---- for Montreal

and all we had is only just-- 16 -- for the Jets.

Did the Jets show up to play ? I think the Shots say it all.

I think it's time for a Coaching change - numbers say it all.

We need a "winner" kick ass Coach like Patrick Roy, who wants to Coach again. C'est Bon

Good Luck next Year to the Jets, and our great Board. :)

Have a great relaxing summer !!!

I cant believe they put a rookie D man in Stanly out to face the music. Where the hell was Connor, Morrisey, Pionk, Copp PLD. You know, the core.

They likely asked for him cause he scored two big goals. You will hear from all the team leaders tomorrow on clean out day. They won't be hiding and will face what I'm sure will be more prepared questions.

So Chipman is sitting beside Chevy alone in the booth watching this team get outshot 44 to 16 in an elimination game. Watching us look like Japan facing Canada in the olympics.

If there isn’t significant change this offseason I don’t know what to think anymore. Are the owners just happy to be in the NHL?

I too hate the 'whoever comes out of Vegas/Col will steamroll the winner of this series anyways' narrative. True or not, it's a bit of petulant 'sour grapes' attitude. What a weird way to make oneself feel better.

Give credit where it was due. Habs played well every game. Jets sucked every game.

I do not think it is sour grapes or petulance. I knew the Jets did not match up well against the habs and do not think either team would fair well against the Avs or Knights. I am actually happy that I will not have to watch the Jets get destroyed. Good luck to Montreal but they will likely lose.

someone asked pomo about 55 not being in the lineup and the montreal not having a 55 in the lineup.........pomo had no answer!!!
To be fair the power play is built around 55 and he does play 20 minutes a game. He is a key piece to the team and if shutdown or suspended ( for way too many games) it changes the team.
The habs are built around 4 lines working like crazed dogs and team defence. If the Jets could have created any speed through the neutral zone with quick passes and a puck carrying d then it would be different. I think makar and mckinnon will light up Montreal unless Price stands on his head or they find a way to get one or both suspended

One more thing before I have my last sleep with my family as I’m flying to work tommorow.

Chipman Chevy Maurice all the other coaches and all the players except helly should and garunteed are embarrassed from this performance

I guess we will see if Chipman is just happy making money or if he really wants to win a cup

This offseason .........

Goodnight everyone

Embarasing , Sickening, Disgusting Jets players and coaches
Save for 17, 37, 64

When has a team not showed up for the 2nd round of the NHL playoffs ? I mean we usually have some surprises in the first round, but to not even show up for the 2nd round is inexcusible.

Tonight was a little better effort but 16 shots over 3 periods is still very, very poor.

The losing streak was a sign. The 2nd round sweep is another sign. I hope True North is picking up on these signs. There is something major wrong with this team, and its not just the crappy D.

Maybe the Province of MB will give the Jets players an exemption to at least play together in a foursome.......

Yes, because the only way to be a real “Jets fan” is to never criticize your team. Sunshine and lollipops is the true measure of fandom.

Bang f***ing on.

The holier than thou attitude for drinking the kool-aid around everything True North does is just flat out tiring.

The honeymoon phase is long over now. It's been ten years since we have had our team back. Fans want to see a competitive team with direction, and rightfully so, we are all invested emotionally and financially in varying degrees.

I come to HF to get a raw feel from the fanbase - good, bad, or ugly. If you have a critical opinion, it hardly means you are less of a fan. At the end of the day, different opinions are good, and that's what makes this place interesting.

I'm not going to crap on the guys - they are professionals, and losing sucks, particularly so being swept. Show me a player that wouldn't be devastated by such a resolution.

I still believe we have some very high-end talent on this team with some very offensively gifted players, and I am not ready to give up on them yet.

One thing has been made painfully clear though - our preparation is poor. Whether it has been systems, schemes, adjustments, and I'd even argue skills training and physical conditioning - all seem to be poor. This needs to be corrected.

I remember a quote from Maurice wherein he stated that 'the team is so skilled they don't really need to practice'. This is not true. This is never true. You need to constantly work on the fundamentals as they form the base of your entire team's structure. Our stick work is severely lacking right now, as is our checking. Many of our guys seem to have really poor balance, cannot make a pass under pressure or know where best to use their stick effectively. This is concerning, and has been for some time now.

We need to get back to basics.

I'm not sure Maurice is the one to get us there.

Guilty of trying to fish for an entire article's worth of answers in a single question I think. Would have been much better if he has just asked what he tweeted.

Wheeler thinks he is the smartest guy in the room. He also said he thought they played well in game 3 and it is a game of inches I wish just once he would be honest. Montreal crushed their spirit with help from Parros and out worked them.
