I don't know man I just was something a bit more from our signed long term big money d-man. A guy with a contract like that should atleast be able to contribute more regardless of d-partners, look at Pionk, he had crap all season in terms of partners as well and faced tougher minutes during the regular season but was markedly better. Even Trouba has stabilized. At some point we are gonna need more from out top d-man if we expect to do anything and right now I am worried we won't. I am not expecting him to be prime Erik Karlsson but the Jets are going nowhere if he's like he was this season with that contract.

Fair enough and he wasn't good th first half of the year but was good the back half and great against Edmonton.

I am just against throwing players out the door when they have been put in a tough spot. What this team needs to do is get back to the point where they can put some of our players in a position to succeed. A 40 point strong two-way Morrissey when paired with a competent partner that gives him confidence like he showed against Edmonton is well worth that cash. He was our second best player last series and $6.25 million isn't even that much for a dmen.

We need to get that player going again and it starts with not playing him with barely NHL caliber players.

We can talk about Pionk and he's played well but he has at least played with legit NHL caliber players the last few years and his performance has taken noticeable dips when his partners game has tanked.

Constantly being out shot by the opposing team isnt a recipe for success. This team was a mirage, and I guess the opinion of the North being trash is true. #PoMoGots2Go

I hope ya’ll enjoy your summer. See you psychos in the fall. GoJetsGo!

As I mentioned in the GDT, thank you all for the company this Season and I look forward to next year.

I agree with many of you that changes are needed, and I really hope we see the ones needed to take this Team the next step.

Also, special thank you to the Moderators. You do a great, but thankless job keeping the Board, especially the GDT’s clean. I

I will be upset if nothing changes. This team need retooling for sure.

Have a great summer folks...

Thanks for the great threads.

ITA to all the above posts. Thanks to my fellow HF Jets for the great company, laughts, gdt, memes, cheers, groans and commiserating. See you all next season! (And god help the Jets' chances of making next year's playoffs if Seattle is just as good an expansion franchise as Vegas. That's all we need - another Western Conf team to battle for a playoff spot!)

A discussion about Morrissey is fair but having it ignited by that winning goal is odd. He was pretty much doing what everyone wanted the Jets to do and play a strong side overload, zone type defence. He maybe gave Caufield a bit too much cushion but his job was net front. Somehow it was his fault Copp and Stanley got absolutely walked off the wall

I can't cheer for Montreal because their fans entitlement is actually worse than the leafs. I'm done watching hockey for now. Go Carolina I guess.

Perreault seems very happy at the end. Almost seems like a relief that his time with the team has come to an end.

Apparently other were too.. I didn't see.

I don't think he's done. I think they have accepted the loss after the scheif suspension. I think if happiness is showed it's only because they get to go see their wives and kids again. Perreault is the only vet I bring back. 1 year deals now.

If the Jets signed Corey Perry I’d throw up. No way I cheer for that asshat.

Not saying Perry has turned into an angel lately, but there has been cases I have been thinking what's wrong with him as he seems to not be the absolute ass he used to be. Seems that Perry is matured somewhat and may even be a human being after all.

Yup it was Dubois guy but our players on the wall got schooled.

That is another issue with coaching. How can you expect the players to flawlessly change schemes when you have instructed them to play straight m2m for nearly two year straight. No surprise assignments get missed.
