If the Leafs mental toughness is equal to their fans mental toughness, we are f-ed.... people it's one period in one game. We got marginally outplayed. Montreal was going to come out and hit like freight trains , we knew this, they cant keep it up, when they back off we will score, score and score some more.

If you thought we were going to win 48 straight periods all the way to the cup, ya really gotta get a grip.

The team is not one player better, we are not just a JT better than Montreal we are considerably better in every aspect. Deep breaths...

Man somehow these guys have gotta come back to being focussed.

You just watched your captain lose his counciousness and have a potential traumatic brain injury. It's really hard to focus when you don't know the condition of your friends well being... Just pray he's ok. Hockey is 2nd to life.

Mass x Acceleration = Force is my biggest concern. Concussed for sure. Hopefully not a Traumatic brain injury or bleed. C-spine fracture possible, his thumbs up was reassuring for some neurological stability hope things don’t get worse. Toronto is blessed with world class healthcare he’s in good hands.

Leafs still in 6 for JT

Lots of realists want to hear me. Those who are "offended" can go to their safe space and put me on ignore.
I haven't put you on ignore. You're not some Leafs visionary. You're just a whiner complaining after one period of hockey where something traumatic happened to the team.

It's not even possible to make that decision in that split half a second.

I swear some of you have never played a sport in your life.

I've played competitive hockey since I was maybe 5? And that has nothing at all to do with this, nobody cares about your house league experience.

He skater through him accidently on purpose, it's why he throws his hands up when he jumps trying to draw a tripping penalty.

It will be easier to think about hockey getting some good news about Tavares but the salt in the wounds to see Montreal score after all that chaos. Hopefully it’s not too bad all things considered. Visually it just looked awful like what you’d imagine a “career ender” to look like.

Hyman Matthews Marner
Foligno Thornton Nylander
Mikheyev Nash/Matthews Kerfoot
Spezza Nash/Matthews Simmonds
Play 34 as much as possible

Had the biggest Leaf related break down of my life. Respect to Foligno n also Perry.

We better win or these guys are 100% soft-cocked losers.

Lmao these hot takes are insane. I get you guys are upset but get a grip.
And as a f***ing counter-argument, the ENTIRE thread this year listing off all the times the refs "didn't see" Leafs getting cheap-shotted. Enough with the bullshit "That's just a hot take". IF you want to play this game, perhaps you could give us a alternate reason why 0 players were suspended from injuring Leafs from 2013 to 2020.

Sportsnet / CBC whatever need to have some policy on showing really bad injuries over and over again. Kids watch hockey, too. And even adults don't want to see it over and over again.

Then maybe don't let your kids watch it. It's a full contact sport, what do you expect?

I saw Clint Malarchuk as a kid.

I know people are reluctant to say anything with what just happened. But the series hinges on if Nylander can carry that 2nd line.

They absolutely need to see the best version of him. And I bet that's what Dubas and Keefe will challenge him with.
