I'm just so sad right now.

It's the same feeling I have right now. We could be up 4-0 right now and I'd feel the same.

I am just crushed. If I feel this way as a fan, I can't even imagine how the players are feeling. They are a really tight knit group and you can see that in those Leaf Blueprint videos, press conferences etc. It's not fake, they care deeply about each other on and off the ice.

The boys are going to come out with the biggest fire in their tummies.

You haters on here who i don't even consider fans, saying our season is over after one period need to give your heads a shake.

One of their own went down, they are not just hockey players they are people and they're hurting.

We will come back and win this for Johny.

Hope you're okay big guy, that thumbs up got me a little choked up.

Do it for JT. Light up these fools.
That's the best way sire  We also might get tavares back the next game. Remember paul kariya back in the day, with scott stevens. Imagine tavares coming back in the dirty third period. NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE SIRE. NOTHING.

WE WILL WIN THIS GAME TOO. TAVARES MIGHT BE BACK IN GAME 5. Maybe in the third round of playoffs. WE AINT KNOWING THIS YET, NORE DID KARIYA after the STEVENS HIT. REMEMBER TH EHISTORY AND THE GEZAME YALL: WE HARD STILL. LIKE STILL DRE.

Leafs looked fine until the JT injury then they were sleep walking for 10 minutes trying to get motivated again. Hopefully the intermission lets them reset.

It will be easier to think about hockey getting some good news about Tavares but the salt in the wounds to see Montreal score after all that chaos. Hopefully it’s not too bad all things considered. Visually it just looked awful like what you’d imagine a “career ender” to look like.
I blame myself.

Was I watching a different game? They were hitting, getting chances, looked good to me.

Evidently. They were being outshot and outchanced by a bottom 10 team in the NHL.

And yes, I'm aware they didn't officially finish bottom ten, but they certainly would have under normal divisional circumstances. They're a bad, bad Hockey team.

It was the fact that he jumped. If he would have absorbed the contact, it would have been nothing.
as if he could think all of that in the .01 seconds he had. When youre in a position like that your instincts completely take over, no time to think. Perry also looked shook as hell standing at his bench

the reality is Perry is notorious for drive by shots, usually just a little shoulder bump or whack but its his instinct to blow by guys and get a piece. Now he didnt expect Tavares head to pop up into his knee, but he saw JT there and he made no effort to go around him. It wasnt intentional to injure him like that, but it was reckless and his reputation makes it really hard to believe that the game was too fast for him to avoid that.

If you’ve already jumped off the deep end, after one period, under those circumstances, it actually says more about your weaknesses and why you’ve never been successful at ANYTHING in you “life”.

Relax.

It's simply the fragility of a fanbase that has been let down too many times lol.

Playoff series are wars and you have to overcome a ton of adversity. Nothing different about this game and what's happening in all the other series. Toronto came out, got out hit, gave up a goal, had a couple great chances themselves and hit a goal post.

That's the way she goes.

honestly, they were looking good until Tavares got hit, which shook them, which is understandable because that would shock anyone. Montreal took advantage of that, with the Anderson goal. but i thought we were coming back to snuff by the end of the period.

the leafs need to score (early) in the 2nd, and then press the advantage.

Perry knew exactly where Tavares was, he had plenty of strides to move prior, he wanted a piece of him. Leafs need to wake up and stop playing nice.

Yeah I suppose when they slow it down 50x it looks like that, but that happened immediately.

Some people have never played hockey and have no idea how fast a game it is.
