I think JT should take about 7 to 10 days to make sure there is no severe concussion just to make sure.

Leafs gotta find a way to get it done. If losing JT means losing to the habs then I don't even know where to begin describing what this team is.....

agreed there’s no way he comes back in this series until he displays no concussion like symptoms

It will be easier to think about hockey getting some good news about Tavares but the salt in the wounds to see Montreal score after all that chaos. Hopefully it’s not too bad all things considered. Visually it just looked awful like what you’d imagine a “career ender” to look like.

Yeah. I'll be honest when I first saw it, and John leaning upright slightly with the blood and the trainer holding his neck, I thought maybe he'd caught a skate blade and I was basically holding my frozen from that point

Did anyone almost lose it watching Simmonds? When he said "We gotta win it for Johnny he wouldn't want it any other way"? Man...
I ain't lost it sire. But I DO AS A FORMER PLAYER APPRECIATE THAT DIRT. SIMMONDS AND JOE OUR KEY GUYS. They talk that talk and walk that johnny cash walk.

Mass x Acceleration = Force is my biggest concern. Concussed for sure. Hopefully not a Traumatic brain injury or bleed. C-spine fracture possible, his thumbs up was reassuring for some neurological stability hope things don’t get worse. Toronto is blessed with world class healthcare he’s in good hands.

Leafs still in 6 for JT

I hope I'm not wrong but MMA fighters get kneed in the head all the time and come back. Yes Perry as going faster than a MMA but JT had a helmet on too. JT has a concussion or whiplash or both, that is at the very least his injuries. I hope there is no damage to his spine or brain.

I've played competitive hockey since I was maybe 5? And that has nothing at all to do with this, nobody cares about your house league experience.

He skater through him accidently on purpose, it's why he throws his hands up when he jumps trying to draw a tripping penalty.

Corey Perry is a player with a reputation. Not saying he’s looking to potentially break a guy’s neck on purpose out there at all but he’s definitely not going to shy away from contact and if you get a bump or bruise, good. That’s probably why guys like these always have so much collateral around them.

I don't think Perry intentionally kneed him in the face but I don't think it's a stretch to think he intended to get a piece of Tavares. Nobody is going to convince me a professional hockey player cannot recognize that situation developing and avoid all contact if they want. Put another way, it's not a coincidence it was Perry.
I agree. Perry wanted an extra piece. Didn’t want to hospitalize him, but if he wanted no contact, he wouldn't have taken a straight line to Tavares. He changed his path.

All you trolls saying Perry/Andersen are clean can GTFO.

Evidently. They were being outshot and outchanced by a bottom 10 team in the NHL.

And yes, I'm aware they didn't officially finish bottom ten, but they certainly would have under normal divisional circumstances. They're a bad, bad Hockey team.
Before the Tavares injury the game was pretty damn even. And yeah the Leafs are a better team but the Habs always play em hard, and the playoffs are Habs hockey. The Leafs are notoriously slow starters and yet looked good until that hit.

One thing to keep in mind is tavares is extremely tough. Second thing is it looks like injury is a concussion which yes is bad but not extremely scary like a neck injury since he was moving around his arms and legs...
In my limited non professional opinion a concussion is scary but for someone like Tavares who doesn't have a history and thus probably a natural ability to recover quickly from concussions.. I would make a semi educated guess and hope that he will be just fine with no long lasting complications that he will likely be back sooner rather than later

Sportsnet / CBC whatever need to have some policy on showing really bad injuries over and over again. Kids watch hockey, too. And even adults don't want to see it over and over again.
I agree, they keep playing it like a broken record... and for what purpose? Do all the viewers really need to see that on repeat all game? It's hard enough watching it once..

How much softer do you people want hockey to become? Blur out replays and not show them altogether now?

Lmao, no wonder viewership and ratings are tanking. Keep listening to people who believe in safe spaces.
