you don’t think he was f***ing trying? Tavares is stronger than him and pushing him away. Look at how many people had to come to keep him down, it took 4 people to keep him down. Go read up on when someone gets knocked out. Your brain doesn’t process anything that recently happened. When he comes back to earth his instinct is to keep playing.
If he's incapable then get a different trainer or have 2 trainers respond? I understand how players react and the staff's first job is to prevent that from happening because there's a major risk for worsening the injury, which we saw when JT fell over backwards. It was horrific and I think it was avoidable.

I would go

Hyman-Matthews-Nylander
Foligno-Kerfoot-Marner
Mikheyev-Nash-Simmonds

Rotate:

Thornton-Spezza-Marner
Thornton-Matthews-Spezza
I might try
Foligno, Matthews, Hyman
Nylander, Kerfoot, Marner
1st line....big man line.
Second line has decent quickness and Willy has actually played better on the left

Perry ran into him on purpose, of course he didn't mean to injure him like that. But he totally meant to bump him.

The Tavares injury is no excuse for losing this game though, stuff like that happens all the time. Pacioretty got his face caved in by Chara. Only losers would wilt instead of using it as motivation.
It's not even possible to make that decision in that split half a second.

I swear some of you have never played a sport in your life.

Literally your first job as a trainer there is to keep the player still while you assess the situation. Keeping the player down is his job, he failed to do it and risked worsening the injury.
Maybe he should of decked him and knocked him out completely.

I'd love to know how I get a job as a hit counter for an NHL team because clearly being good at the job is not a requirement.

I don't think Perry intentionally kneed him in the face but I don't think it's a stretch to think he intended to get a piece of Tavares. Nobody is going to convince me a professional hockey player cannot recognize that situation developing and avoid all contact if they want. Put another way, it's not a coincidence it was Perry.
It happened way to fast for me to think Perry had any sort of intent on that.

I don't even care about this particular game. We'll probably still win this series without Tavares but one of our strengths was having Tavares a superstar 1C as our 2c. It becomes incredibly hard to win the Cup without him.

I am hoping for the best for his health but if he's smart he's probably done for the year. The way he collapsed on the ice after trying to get up was harrowing to watch.

We're f***ed cursed man. It f***ing sucks.

They’re friends

I ain't a fan of separating Matthews and Marner. These boys have to learn how to take over a series already and from the way they feed off eachother it's most likely they'd do it on the same line.
