Really? Isn't it mandatory u keep 3? Thought that's how they always did it. He had a good showing. See if he cracks it
This was the tweet from Masters:

Maybe they changed the rule. Official announcement of the roster is at 4:45 according to Masters

Yah I liked him quite a bit too. Slightly to pricey IMO. North Bay might be the best team in the league. Really good roster
Yeah, hadn't seen the price before posting that. That is steep for him. I would rather spend that much for someone like a Brett Harrison

My thoughts on the power play are much of the same

- Other than Pastujov there is no real shot threat. It's a given Voit will pass. Vilmanis cant hit the net 85% of the time lol. Ritchie, Mast have solid shots but nothing crazy & they to often pass when shot lanes are open.

- Not been good enough screening the goalie. They missed Burke a ton when he was out for this reason. to many easy saves. Filak would be great at it, but hasn't gotten much of a chance in that spot. for some reason they used him as the other half wall yesterday which I didn't like.

- Lack of creativity. It runs thru Voit pretty much the whole time. Gotta use down low, the slot more. It was good early on because Lantz was getting a lot of touches in the middle which gave other guys more space.

- Lack of continuity. They've rarely been able to run one PP for a sustained period of time. Had Mast running it for a bit then Ritchie, Then Daviault, even tried Young, then they got Pastujov & moved 22 off it, but then Burke got hurt (who was leading the league in PPG) & now he comes back but Pastujov is hurt.

- It has the talent to be a top group & they have to figure it out after christmas. Hopefully get Pastujov, Mast back & one unit can practice & get some good chemistry going because its such a difference maker.

Thought MacDonell should've, but Daviault hasn't earned it with his play imo
Agree on #19. I dont think the 'powers that be' selecting these teams appreciate the elements of his game that he brings that the other players selected don't have.
Also if Gaudreau comes back from this with his game intact and everyone else healthy, it will be a hell of a fun second half. That's a big 'if' though.

It will be. We've bad our bumps but this team IF healthy can do some major damage with solid goaltending. Like u said 2 big ifs but I believe in this group.

They've had to deal with a ton of adversity already & have handled it quite well IMO. Only sit 4 points out of 3rd & 6 out of 1st.

One good thing these injuries did was give guys big ice time they wouldn't of gotten it. Now if comes playoffs we r missing a body or two ur not scared to play Filak, MacDonell, Fischer, Young more minutes because they've shown they can handle it

Daviault is turning into a defensive liability. 2 goals on Sun he half tried to block on 1 knee , probably prevented goalie from getting a good look. Sometimes you just wonder 'what was he trying to do ?'

I was one of the bigger believers of his but I agree. Especially lately he's been an adventure. As a rookie he played pretty smart & really played to his strengths.

This year he's trying to be something he's not & it's getting him in all sorts of trouble.

If Mast & Hoover return I'm not sure how they could possibly sit Fischer over him. He's been leaps better & a legitimately good add to our blue line

Trade market really picking up. Zito fetching two 2nds, 3rd, conditional 3rd (if back as OA?) + depth player had to make the teams selling off happy. Can't see Harrison, Arcuri, Zhilkin (if GUE sells further), Savard, going for less. Gonna be really interesting to see if there's any surprise guys that become available.

Guys that would fit in that tier for me that I'd really like would be, Sirizzotti RW (NIA), Frasca C (BAR), Bressette C (ER), Martin LW (KIT), Pinelli C (KIT), DelBellBelluz C (MISS), Del Mastro D (MISS), Hache D (KGN), Sharpe D (MISS). Another one that would be a bit dangerous/questionable would be Winterton in HAM. very good T6 F who was a major piece for Hamilton's cup run. Issue is he's coming off his 2nd major shoulder surgery & is yet to play this yr. expected back in the next 2-3-4 weeks.

Decent chance a majority if not all of those guys aren't available, but if they become it would definitely like us to be in on them. There really aren't many good backup goalies in the league this year so adding that may be a bit difficult. Gonna get pretty intense I imagine as there are some heavy hitters who are yet to do much.

As a reminder we have three 2nds, two 3rds, four 4ths, three 5ths to work with. I'd say one above average player + depth piece or two really solid players is very doable. IMO no one is worth more than two 2nds other than Wright (if returned) or maybe Del Mastro, but I imagine if we wanted him Daviault would be offered. Should be fun! lol.

Mississauga becomes an interesting wild card after today's trade. A lot of interesting pieces available if they're selling off

Wow. So that means a someone waived a no trade ? What else would it get snagged on?

Only 1st rounders have those right?
not really. some teams are good with giving players the option to say no even though the contractually dont have too. high school aged players have them as a default as well.
