It seems a little unfair though to only be worried and upset about Ullmark and not Brady or anyone else playing.
Brady doesn't have a pre-existing injury that needs to be managed I think is the obvious difference here.

I doubt there'd be any cares from anyone if Ullmark hadn't missed so much time to a mysterious back injury and where he appears to be coming back just in time to play in the tourney.

Ullmark has been injured on 3 occasions this season. He has been injured for over a month and is still injured as I am making this post. Ullmark hasn't played a game since Dec. 22nd because of a back injury.

Brady hasn't missed a game this season.

Ullmark has more of a history of being injured than Brady Tkachuk.

Still no Ullmark tonight. Green says he's getting close, the same thing they've said for the last ten days or so.

I said this would likely be a very long injury knowing a thing or two about back issues, and I sure wasn't wrong.

I'm really hoping he drops out of the 4 Nations tournament. Seems to me if they're being so careful about him not re aggravating it, then he should be taking those two weeks off to rest and guarantee he'll be fully healthy for the last stretch of the season, and more importantly, the playoffs.

I think they will keep him out a few more games so he can decline the 4 nations. If he sits out another week, he gets another 2 weeks to recover with the break.

Give him the WPG game on the 26th.

Feels like Hasek injury updates of years ago. So close yet so far and constantly pushed back. At this rate we'll get to the end of the season and he'll still be day to day or week to week. Maybe they should just stfu and say he's still on the shelf indefinitely. I find these "updates" more frustrating than no update at all.

This whole debacle is so disappointing. Finally get a goaltender worth his salt to play for this team and he's got a mysterious back injury that keeps him out months without even a significant play you can point to. Just gone. If we don't hear about a surgery this summer to hopefully "fix" him, this is probably an ongoing issue for the life of the contract. Hard to feel confident right now that he'll be available when the team really needs him.

Counter argument to that would be Ullmark is likely very cold. The 4 nations would be a good opp for him to play intense games and get back into game shape for Ottawa.

Yeah
First it was a tweak
Then a lingering back issue
Then he was back on the ice jan 12
Now who knows

The "tweak" thing was such bullshit lol. He's obviously got a bad back and Greene doesn't want to freak the fanbase out.

Best we can hope for is that there is some sort of surgery option in the off-season that could solve the issue, otherwise he's likely to be on the shelf for long stretches of time through the entire duration of his contract.

Why is every goaltender that comes to Ottawa always get injured somehow? It's ridiculous
Some get injured sitting on the bench. Another way to look at this is that our #1 goalie will be fresh for the playoffs since he has been resting for so long .... or ... rusty ... never mind.

No. Ullmark has been injured this season for quite a few games. There is logic behind it.

No. Give him more time to rest and recover from whatever his injuries are.
