Damn that late goal sucks. Surzycia was unbelievable. Kyrou really is a 4th F lmao. Hopefully Letang can reign him in a bit.

Thank god Burke is OK but he is heateddd on the bench. Hopefully doesn't do anything stupid.

Surzycia only reason we are winning. He really had no chance on that late goal, perfect deflection while being screened. He has been great.

Glad we are making due on our chances but holy hell that’s some sloppy hockey. Boys look a little sluggish still. Need to right the ship starting tonight. Better figure it out lol.

Much better. Thoroughly dominated that period. Fantastic puck movement. Welcome to the team Kyrou! Great pop from the crowd for the announcement.

Close this out boys

Ya much much better lol. Nice to see them getting so many looks. They are so hard to contain when they are moving their feet and the passes are clicking. Pucks will find their way to the back of the net, just gotta keep giving ourselves the looks. Good stuff, close it out.

Sluggish start but that turned into a nice win. Thought Sarnia did a fantastic job that last 40 not giving Erie much of anything while still putting a few in the back of the net. Nice straight forward kinda win, the one you would expect with this matchup. Team played at lot more disciplined tonight too, I thought. The big guns were all playing great and created a ton for themselves and lines. Surzycia set the tone with some big time saves in the first and gave the boys in front of him enough time to get their legs going after the 1st. That was big. Steady Eddy the rest of the way through.

Well that's a game to forget lol. Snoozer. Erie looked absolutely horrid. Not sure they had 2 scoring chances after the 1st. Good disciplined, gritty win.

Top line could've had 3 apiece just couldn't get the bounces around the net. Voit tho my god SHOOT on odd man rushes.

Kyrou was really good. Solid goal & made a number of good zone denies to send us the other way for odd man rushes. A lot to work with there. Ton of skills.

Thought the 74-83 pairing was excellent. Their best game as a pair. Great play by filak on the one goal & he sticks up for Burke. He's been amazing. Would like to see MacDonell pick it up a bit.

Should've won & did. Onto the 1st half finale Friday back at Flint

Also, are there no such things as power plays anymore???? The refs have completely put the whistles away almost no matter the infraction. It's crazy.

Each team got away with a number of relatively easy calls. Was the same story last weekend.

Wasn't closely watching the game tonight. From what I saw the top line was great. Solid last two periods only giving up 9 shots. Great to see Surzycia continue his solid play with Gaudreau away. He's earning the trust of the coaching staff lately. He's got an .897 save percentage over his last 6.

Seca post-game said a few things. 1, they've been trying to get Kyrou for awhile. Thrilled to get him.

They've (staff) been incredibly pleased with the groups play & effort despite all the injuries.

Lastly he said 2 guys (Mast, Hoover I presume) have appointments tomorrow. Hoping both get cleared to return to play. Said they are hopeful/optimistic about it.

Any specific reason he wanted out? Just ice time?

Kyrou is basically a forward playing offense at this point. He has a lot of offensive ability and his shot is lethal especially on the PP. in recent weeks, fans have complained about his discipline in his own end. If you are just looking for an offensive puck mover, than you got a top end one for imo a solid price. If you are looking for a top end player in his own end, Kyrou isn’t really that. But new team and coaching maybe changes his approach. Either way, he has a lot of skill. Enjoy!
After 1 game, 100% accurate description of Kyrou. Haven’t seen a “defenseman” wander like that since DeAngelo. Smart pairing with Dillingham, although unfortunately both are RH shots.
Things will get better once he learns his teammates.

Blue Jay Way..
Just stopped in to see what's going on with Vilmanis? I see he has missed the last two games, would anyone have any information on why that is? He was on a nice little 5-game point streak.

I'm a Florida Panthers fan, so any scouting report on him would be appreciated.

I live half hour east of Sarnia. Can't wait to come and see a game. I'm planning to go at the end of February when North Bay is in town.

He was really aggressive in the 1st but thought he calmed down quite a bit in the 2nd & 3rd. Hopefully once Letang is back they work on picking spots opposed to always doing it.

He's definitely a great addition tho. We didn't have anyone like him. You could see a whole new dimension to our attack with him out there. Can't wait to see how our PP looks once they get some reps together. It could be absolutely lethal.

He's off to the world juniors for Latvia. He was probably playing his best hockey leading up to it. He's a beast. Big kid who's a fantastic skater with great edge work for a guy his size. Sweet set of hands. He often makes opposing Dmen look foolish. One of the better guys in the entire league along the boards. Has a really hard shot, but really struggles to hit the net with it. Would like to see him be a bit more physical but at this point it isn't apart of his game.

If I were a Florida fan id be very excited about him as a prospect, especially where you got him. He has some really solid upside. Hopefully you enjoy your time here! That's a great game to choose as Sarnia/North Bay both are looking promising.

He is off to World Jrs for Latvia. Fantastic for him.

I am a big fan of Vilmanis. He has pro written all over him in my opinion. Although like any prospect, they have their flaws. Vilmanis can absolutely wire the puck. His issue is hitting the damn net sometimes. It's hard to tell what his issue is with the accuracy of his shooting. It seemed fairly dialed during camp and preseason. Luckily shooting is a skill set and I'm sure he's just gripping the twig a little too tight right now, but oh man... can he shoot hard. I swear he could have 10-12 more goals than he does right now. His puck skills are high quality. He can make a lot out of a little and create extra space for himself. Good size and strength compliment all the above. He has been playing 2nd line most of the year. Always seems to be stuck with at least 1 line mate who just doesn't gel all that well with Sandis's skill set. Makes good decisions with the puck most of the time. He can tend to hang onto it a tad longer then what he should, but that could come back to just gripping the twig a little too hard right now as mentioned. I'm fairly confident it will all come together shortly for him. When it does, it will be fun for everyone! Great potential for your Panthers going forward.

Damn, if only I'd seen this 11 mins ago, I'd just say "ditto" lmao.

I knew Pastujov was a great player in Guelph but I always thought he was a bit more of a 1way guy. Like a Perreault was. But I was wrong. He's blown me way so far. 10 games, 8G/11A, +8. every time he gets the puck it feels like he's going to create something dangerous & he's been anything but a liability out there.

He's way better along the boards/down low than I anticipated. Very savvy, smart player with great patience in spots most guys would be panicking. Those are his #s with the PP doing very little. Imagine it catches fire at some point, especially with Kyrou here now.. Same goes for Voit, Burke. Those 4 could go right nuts..

Stellar trade by Seca & the thing I love about it the most is he did it early in November. Imagine he waited & Sasha was still in GUE. The price would only be getting higher, especially with some recent moves (Zito, Kyrou, Lavoie) fetching multiple 2nds, 3rds.

100% - I like seeing all these trades happening now. I hate that whole rent-a-player for a few months thing. Seca says he wanted Kyrou even earlier. I like that mindset. Get the team you want for your run together now and let it mesh. I wonder if there will be a few more league wide by tomorrow.

I'm shocked how quiet FLT, OTT, WSR, OS have been. It's not an overly big market of players this year. Some teams are gonna be left with very little to choose from.

Clarke, Wright's pending return makes everything tougher too. Assume BAR adds if Clarke is back & sells if he isnt, KGN probably sells (already are)

MISS just added a ton of picks & might add with them. Let's hope the east teams strike & leave very little for the other western teams lol

Not to mention KIT has decided to add & I doubt they're done. They probably still have 2-3 moves left.

I feel like a newbie... Totally forgot he went to the Latvian World Junior camp. My bad.
I've been to lots of Sting Games, I actually used to work for the team back when Yak & Gally roamed the Rink. That's where I Learned to Drive Zamboni.
I've always had a soft spot for Sarnia. One of my favorite OHL teams. Probably comes from, Get Ready Blast from the Past, I was a HUGE Novoseltsev fan!

One of the guys I mentioned. Would've done this everyday of the week. NIA is the worst run team in recent memory. Holy smokes.

Their owner/GM just makes trades for the sake of making a trade. They have no direction or plan. They will bring in a good vet, then two weeks later trade a good vet out for picks. No direction or plan for now or the future.
