None. If they’re smart, they’ll take what they can get for him and if criticized for it, point up at the banner.
Exactly if you get a 2nd and third and a player you take that all day this season is a wash. Anyone who disagrees doesn’t know how junior hockey works

For the last few posts it sounds like it's not the petes holding it up, it's Beck not wanting to sign... There's a deal that's done between the GMs but if Beck says he's staying it totally screws over the petes who are trying to recoup assets spent last year.

What if they have no choice? Beck has a NTC. Has to be good for something or why bother. In saying this it has thrown a huge wrench into the deadline deals.
The amount of people who are ignorant of how junior hockey works on this site is surprising. The amount who can’t comprehend it after watching the O, reading these threads and having it explained to them multiple times with the examples laid out in front of them is mind-boggling.
It’s more likely that the deal is being held up until after the Spirit Petes game today. It’s just easier for all parties involved that way.

I hope Owen Beck stands strong to void any trade, if that is his choice. In this instance, how does it benefit him? It benefits the Petes only. It is his right as a player to finish out his OHL career where he see's fit. A pro career awaits, he owes nothing other than his excellent performance as a Pete.

Absolutely. Still got 3 or 4 more days here. No way does he stay. Even if it’s to a team in the east division he will be leaving Peterborough just a matter of for who, to who and when.
Also I doubt the fronts do this obviously wouldn’t make much sense however I’d put them as a wild card as it appears beck and miedema are best friends lol. Maybe they want to play together again

What’s in it for Beck? Prime ice time on a stacked lineup, a potential #1 overall pick on his wing, with guaranteed birth in the Memorial Cup. Ability to work on the offensive side of his game that he needs before the next level
Sure it’s not cash. But he’s not going to be making bank in Laval on ann AHL deal either and no way he sees as much ice time

What foolishness next... the Spirit with Beck against any of those National teams? Trust me he's not making bank coming to Saginaw. The only BANK he makes in a trade is to assist the Petes.

He had 1 point at the world Jrs and is barely over a point a game in the OHL this season. He totally still can prove he can be an elite offensive player in the OHL. He hasn’t done so up until this point as a Pete. Great two way player 100%. But working on his offensive game is what is going to move him from a 3 c in the nhl to a top 2 line center.
Move along. We get it. Like it or not this is still a business.
This is still the best thing for Owen better hockey longer.

As I can recall, the WHOLE Canada squad except for maybe one (the BU player looked good ) did nothing to write home about. As to your second point," barely over a point a game in the OHL this season". So, based on this, Saginaw gives up the farm? THEY need a TOP quality dman. Get that, for that is where their weakness lies.
