We wouldn't be trying to acquire Beck to send to North Bay for Bloom (and Nelson?), would we? Please tell me that's just silly.

saginaw traded bloom to north bay last year. I think there is conditionals in that trade and I believe that’s what he is talking about. Bloom would not be a free agent as north bay still owns his rights, has cards and he is of age to play here in ohl

Wow didn’t see this

Why would they release him lol? they must’ve thought there was 0 chance he was coming back and they wanted to save a card or something along the lines of that?

I’m confused if he was on waivers wouldn’t the last placed teams get first dibs over Saginaw?

They had to release his rights in November at the deadline to get down to four overages. They had Liam Arnsby, Paul Christopoulos, Justin Ertel and Pasquale Zito on their roster which did not allow them to retain his rights.

Crazy how wrong you were in two hours

Two hours? More like two weeks! I had Saginaw as savvy buyers since the beginning of December…. I honestly didn’t think they would go that direction. This probably means they are more than all in. They will still need at least one premium D-Man and maybe another piece or two. I thought they would go after the biggest D-Man, not centre.

Interesting. So, that means he would be a free agent. But, wouldn’t they need to add him to the roster by January 9th? That is still inside the 14 months. Is it only 13 months or does that go away once he is a free agent?

My understanding it is 13 months before a player can be traded back to a team that traded him. He was traded in November, 2022.

Goes away once he’s released evidently

Cool. 13 months is fine. I thought maybe since he was a free agent, it didn’t matter but that makes it clear enough.

The question now is which Saginaw OA goes out the door via trade? Those are three solid OA’s.

Probably not trading Hache or Christopolous who they brought in. Would leave Loukus with the short straw. Which sucks but its business. Like i mentioned earlier, Missy would be a great spot for him so that he's still on a competitive team

I think Missy would more likely be looking to try to fill in with a D-Man if possible but I agree, it would be better to go to a competitive team. Ottawa needs an OA as well but they really need a centre…

If Barrie moves Punnett Saginaw always works with them so I could see it

The Spirit home page lists Dionicio's hometown as Newark, NJ. I was wondering why there was no talk on here about acquiring an import.

Starting the 3rd period, shots right now are 22-9 in favor of Saginaw. A season low for Kitchener so far (according to Rogers). Saginaw has done a great job of outshooting teams all season, it just always hasn't translated to definite wins.
