he was such a bust in the khl. i don't understand this.
I believe kp61c is russian.A bust based on?.......
If you don’t follow the khl and just a stats watching then yeah but a bust? Far from it
Entered the KHL as a 17 year old and has since played over 200 games (reg. + playoffs) in the second best professional league in the world.
What has he done? Well, for reference (pulling this from the Leafs sub), by 22 years old:
- Panarin recorded 50 goals in 209 games over 5 seasons, or 0.24 G/GP.
- Korshkov recorded 24 goals in 172 games over 5 seasons, or .14 G/GP.
Now, looking at point totals after their first 5 seasons:
- Korshkov - 0.378 PPG
- Panarin - 0.385 PPG
If you adjust for 2 years post-draft, which might be more accurate given Panarin was 16/17 in his first small sample size year, then it looks like:
- Panarin put up 50 regular season points, in 93 games.
- Korshkov put up 45 regular season points, in 88 games.
Korshkov has also played on Lokomotiv for his entire career, which is typically a lower scoring team, whereas Panarin played for Vityaz/SKA. He's also suffered from several major injuries that derailed his seasons, such as a broken leg and shoulder injury. You have to factor in rehabilitation and recovery in to his stat line.
Those stat comparables are just to illustrate how difficult it is to produce in the KHL at such a young age. Korshkov and Panarin aren't really comparable at all, as Korsh plays a more straight line PWF game around his size. I think there is a lot of reason to be excited for a top 9 forward who was picked just outside of the 1st round a couple years ago.
If he isnt good he will play for the Marlies lol we aren't desperate for cheap wingers on league min or close to it....we have a lot of that.Guy's bad and I don't expect him to do a whole lot. Might still make the team, as I guess Leafs are desperate for cheap depth with their cap situation.
Just potted his 1st AHL goal in his first game. Great pass selection from guess who - Rasmus Sandin.
Almost scored earlier in the game off of this interception that lead to a nice dangle/scoring chance.
He's had 3-4 pretty big hits on the back check and along the boards. Has a subtle mean streak to his game that i'm sure Babcock will love. But guys, @ijuka says he's bad, so that's a wrap for his career.
Pretty much. Hopefully he spends his summer in Toronto working with her. It's his first few steps that are super ugly to watch but once he gets going, he can go.
Barb Underhill has made a living off players like this.
Did he call him Igor?
Okay, Vain Gretskiy it is from now on.Well Mikheyev is now Mikha-yav so calling Yegor Igor I can really let slide in this context.
His name is Егор. As latin letters are what you use he had to chose SOME spelling. That does not change the fact that his name is ptonounced Ye-gor. Ee-gor is a completely different name. That's his name. Egor Korshkov is his name now, he wanted it changed.
No it can't. Letov just basically chose a scenic name, which is not uncommon for his profession. He could have been artist-formerly-known-as-whatever, doesn't make Yegor and Igor the same name.Yegor is actually Georgiy (George), but there was that Russian cult punk-rocker Yegor Letov, who actually was Igor. So Yegor can probably be Igor as well.
Guy's bad and I don't expect him to do a whole lot. Might still make the team, as I guess Leafs are desperate for cheap depth with their cap situation.
