Sandpaper and grit are just as important for success in the playoffs as skill. As talented as the Oilers were in the 80's, they still had plenty of nuclear deterents on the team in guys like Messier, Jackson, Sammy, Linesman, Lowe, McSorley and even Anderson would have no problem swinging his stick around like a baton and trying to carve some eyes. The Oilers were a tough, tough team, and Sather knew they needed that. Glad that Holland has come to the realization that we were too soft. Unbelievable how far we've come in that department since the beginning of the year.

I think it's all but gaurnteed Yotes are getting Bedard

I don't understand how LTIR doesn't count vs the cap, yet counts towards the cap floor??? WTF

You also don't have to put players on LTIR. The Coyotes have those players on just the IR.

f*** the yotes are pathetic.

They have $23M in IR dead cap for next year and only $24M in signed forwards.
Playing to a 4600 seat building that they cannot fill too. That Quebec City, Hartford, SE Ontario (Hamilton) or Houston wouldn't be a better spot than Arizona is laughable at this point. Now that the league has an even 32 team - they really should be relocating this franchise. Who cares that Arizona is a big media market and Austin Matthews is from there. Get this franchise to a city where the fans will appreciate them and they'll contribute to HRR. The NHLPA should be up in arms about this farce.

Is anyone else alarmed that no info on Yam has come out yet?

Yams is ironically the most important trade deadline piece right now. Either he is healthy and we need to dump him to add an upgrade, or we can LTIR him and make a deal without having to. I think (hope) the Oilers are just trying to figure out what they can get away with here before making a decision on what assets they need to move in the next trade(s).

Seriously... a team would be far better supported in Saskatoon and an NHL team there would bring in FAR more money for the NHL and its players (farmers ain't broke and they need something to do in Winter)... than in Arizona which is a f***ing desert in terms of support for their team.
Yeah but the GaMe wOnT gRoW tHeRe lol

They won't win the lottery, no matter what. You can't have the next Connor McDavid playing in a community rink
I dunno... I'm not really a conspiracy theorist... but if there was a way to rig the lottery... I Garyantee that Bedard would end up in Arizona so his precious sunbelt moneysuck can have some small moment of glory before he too demands out and refuses to stay there in 3 years when his ELC is over.
