Well, one idea is we try to include Campbell and one of Ceci or Kulak, and we just sign one of the cheaper options for goaltending. I know Campbell will be VERY tough to move, but maybe Grier sees this as we need a goalie for now, and it may not be that hard to sell that to him. Grier doesn't seem to get the best out of his deals as we saw in Timo Meier. So who knows?

That seems like the obvious way forward, given how Broberg and Desharnais have performed. Ceci would have to go to San Jose, probably have to dump kulak somewhere else, unless you can get San Jose to take both.

Pretty straight forward deal tbh. Those two get you close enough to a retained karlsson that you can figure it out.

I wouldnt pick him up in the offseason honestly (unless hes cheap and SJ is accommodating). I'd just wait again till the trade deadline to see how his season is going and to see if hes injured. Too much risk otherwise.

My thoughts exactly. Unless he’s being traded at 50% for a very reasonable price, it’s not worth the risk. A deadline conversation next year sounds much more reasonable given his history.

LTIR works to allow you to go OVER the cap.
The contract still counts towards your salary. But once you hit the cap. You are allowed to go over by how much you have in LTIR.

I wonder how long it would take Wilson to get suspended in Oilers silks. Our players generally aren't given as long of a leash from the league as players on other teams are. Remember last playoffs when we faced supplemental discipline four times? lol. Yamamoto is still dealing with the results of a blindside headshot from Landeskog that wasn't even penalized.

This is my worry as well the league has it out for Wilson and much like Kane he has a history and would be suspended within hours of playing his first game IMO.
