Get rid of Ceci and Yams. Upgrade with 6.25 million somehow using picks and retention to get another RD and top 6 RW. Can it be done and with who?

I think it can be done with Parayko, would have to include a third asset.

Kulak, Ceci, Yamo, 1st rounder 2024, 2nd rounder 2023 for Parayko and Bortuzzo.

Karlsson is a salary dump, I can guarantee they don’t want to pay him almost 40M to make them slightly better at a time when they’d probably rather be as bad as possible. Not to mention what his attitude is going to be like. They have limited trade options and getting out of 26-28M in salary commitment is a win, anything of value is just a cherry.

From the Oilers perspective though I just don’t see how you make Karlsson work, even in the summer, you’re limiting yourself in other parts of the roster in the short term
and banking on the cap rising significantly over the next few years.

If you could get rid of Kulak, Foegele, Yam without giving anything up or taking salary back and get Karlsson at 8.5 for a 1st. Then you’d have to decide which one of Ceci or Bouchard to keep and try to trade Campbell retained or buy him out. Then you’d probably be able to fit Karlsson and still round out the roster.

Also like you could do yamo + Kulak and put shore to the minors and ice a 21 man roster with Parayko if the oil went that route and it fits cap wise.

I agree I am just saying if they went that direction it would fit easily.

But I also don’t quite think he is dally off as hard as some people mention but I do think he will fall off in the next two to three years so an 8 year deal is tough at that cap

= 80.7 million, so this lineup actually is a few mill below the cap roof. You could actually keep Foegele too, lol.

Zero chance I'd include Bouchard in a deal for a 33 year old Karlsson. People are blinded by this current season and not the previous 4 years. We have a cost controlled Dman for the next 5 years that put up 40+ points as a rookie without playing the PP. Karlsson probably has 2 good years left and who knows what his injury situation will be.
