Lebrun just said the ask is a second.
That's a lot.

Domi's 'physical' game is a bit of a mirage IMO. Doesn't hit a lot and as an undersized guy, he's not putting a ton of fear into his opponents out there.

His production this year is a bit of an outlier and likely falls off in a situation where he isn't one of the primary scorers. Not a priority to give PP opportunity to either.

I think if he gets traded, he goes to a team that's pretty much resigned to getting dispatched in the first round. And if they bury him on their depth chart, his game will inevitably fall off.

I guess we should start planning the Campbell buyout now too.

Hopefully we can refrain from any more dumbass signings during the McDrai era.

Outside of that one, our $/performance is starting to look downright efficient.

LTIR of Yamo is best for the team and the player... 100% chance he gets another concussion between now and the end of the season over the next 20 games.

It's actually to the point of abusing this guy to have him in the lineup and I'm sure his teammates feel bad for him as well.. to the point of RNH risking a busted hand because tiny Yamo is getting busted to a pulp regularly.

If I was moneybagz Katz I'd have a talk with Yamo and explain that his life is actually in jeopardy and here's an extra $5 million beyond his contract to help him set up his life post hockey for being a good soldier on the team.... then the team can LTIRetire him.

I know that sounds like a slightly shady way of doing things but CTE is no joke and doctor's in 2023 with all current medical knowledge from football/boxing etc must have some way to make the league understand that this player is legitimately in danger of lifelong damage if this continues.

Fairly certain Parayko wouldn’t happen for various reasons. But if his back was fine and he would actually come here (doubtful in my mind):

Nurse-Parayko
Ekholm-Ceci
Broberg-Bouchard
Desharnais

Would be a pretty solid basis for the D

If I was a billionaire I would set up a bunch of companies and let guys invest in Real Estate with me or something lol. Do it through their spouses or parents. Trustworthy people. lol. I would try to bend any rule.

To bleed money and receive transfer funds from actual hockey teams.
And until the rest of the teams say enough is enough, Gary’s charade will continue. Probably forever. I mean if they haven’t been moved at this point and teams are still willing to fork over money to them to make a mockery of the league, it’s hard to see it ever ending.

Not really. 5v5 Scoring
19/20 27 points in 71 games
20/21 18 in 54
21/22 24 in 53 (CBJ)
21/22 7 in 19 (CAR)
22/23 27 in 60
His 5v5 scoring is pretty consistent overall he hovers around 2 points/60. This year is actually his lowest in 3 years.

A 2nd round pick for a guy who can score about 20 goals and has a better shot release than Yamamoto, Foegele, Puljujarvi, McLeod, etc. and play center in a pinch, is good in the dot, has the talent level to be put with McDavid or Drai or RNH isn't bad I don't think.

The market is thin for forwards, not sure the Oilers are going to get anything better than that.

We should have signed him at 3 per in the summer over Yamamoto or Puljujarvi to begin with.

Its been reported that Parayko was only willing to waive for Edmonton, which explains why he was immediately removed from the market/ the trade bait boards as soon as Edmonton landed Ekholm.

He is definitely willing to come here, and the Blues are willing to part with that 8 year contract. There is however a question as to whether he is a wise addition at this stage, and whether we can afford the asset cost (Even in the offseason).

Got any link on that report?

Yeah I have heard different from some guys who went to high school with him and still keep up. But that was a few years ago when bob was all about Parayko but again stuff changes so who knows.

We can afford him cap wise a lot better than Karlsson and it makes out d very defensively sound with some tough elements which I like. Prefer the moonshot of Karlsson since I prefer the puck mover.

Houston wou
Playing to a 4600 seat building that they cannot fill too. That Quebec City, Hartford, SE Ontario (Hamilton) or Houston wouldn't be a better spot than Arizona is laughable at this point. Now that the league has an even 32 team - they really should be relocating this franchise. Who cares that Arizona is a big media market and Austin Matthews is from there. Get this franchise to a city where the fans will appreciate them and they'll contribute to HRR. The NHLPA should be up in arms about this farce.
Houston would actually be Interesting (note I would rather have it in Canada)

Huge fan base and Dallas has shown that hockey can work in Texas

Hartford again would be awesome. Bring back those sick jerseys

I'd be ok with Quebec, but also Halifax would be a good market.

If that's true... very happy that the Oilers chose to go with Ekholm over Parayko... Ekholm is much better with a shorter contract.
