I guess we should start planning the Campbell buyout now too.

Hopefully we can refrain from any more dumbass signings during the McDrai era.

Outside of that one, our $/performance is starting to look downright efficient.
Campbell will be given one more year with an upgraded blue line before a buyout IMO. Not the best idea but I guarantee it will go down that way.

Houston wou

Houston would actually be Interesting (note I would rather have it in Canada)

Huge fan base and Dallas has shown that hockey can work in Texas

Hartford again would be awesome. Bring back those sick jerseys
An 8th Canadian team would balance things out nicely so that when the next Pandemic hits there can be an 8-team TDNorth Canadian Division.

That's not a Holland style play, he's aware of the rollercoaster ride that is goaltending, they can be abysmal one year and a superstar the next, he's going to get additional opportunities to prove himself.

Also given the level of commitment made to Campbell contract wise, it wouldn't surprise me if a goalie coach change was done prior to fully giving up on him.

Honestly, with how goalies are, it could be a great idea.
The last thing you want is to buyout Campbell, bring in a goalie that puts in meh numbers and the Campbell to bounce back. One more year is worth it imho. Or at least till the deadline. With Skinner being cheap we are spending around league average for the goaltending duo so at least we aren't spending 10 mill total.

Campbell is bit of a mentally weak guy it seems, but I do see enough talent in him that he probably can have a hot stretch/good regular season at some point and the Oilers can move him if it comes to that.

Sign me up. Imagine if Campbell playing terrible actually got rid of Dustin "The Roach" Schwartz.

Totally agreed. That would be ideal!! Nice even number of Canadian teams

Well not about the pandemic part. Let’s not do that again!

A 2nd round pick for a guy who can score about 20 goals and has a better shot release than Yamamoto, Foegele, Puljujarvi, McLeod, etc. and play center in a pinch, is good in the dot, has the talent level to be put with McDavid or Drai or RNH isn't bad I don't think.

The market is thin for forwards, not sure the Oilers are going to get anything better than that.

We should have signed him at 3 per in the summer over Yamamoto or Puljujarvi to begin with.
He's currently pacing 20 goals for the second time in his career and the only other time that he's done it he was, again, when he was that team's #1 center. The trend here is the opportunity. He won't get that on a competitive team.

There's a much larger track record of this being a player that his coaches lose trust in, which is why his usage diminishes on teams trying to be more competitive.

We need players who can play large amounts of minutes and help the cause. That doesn't necessarily mean scoring goals. We already score a lot of those. And this Lustre of him being a hard player is a bit of a fallacy.

If you're going to the market with a second rounder, you can find a more reliable forward than that. Colorado pulling out Eller for a late 3rd? Vegas getting Blueger for same? Those are playoff forwards.

Haven't heard much on Henrique... I assume the Ducks would move him but he has another year left on his contract which probably makes it more difficult for teams to fit him and Ducks possibly won't want to retain as much in that scenario.

All accounts say Eller is barely the same player.

Looking at guys left Domi is the best of them.

Like who though? The market is thin.

Domi would get plenty of opportunity here, who's he have to out play? Yamamoto? I don't think that's a high bar for him to clear.

Kane McDavid Domi
RNH Draisaitl Hyman

I could see very easily.

Lars Eller is 33 and has 7 goals on the year in 60 games.

Jar Jar Binks of the NHL.

He is also injured.

Unfortunately I think a lot of his problems are mental. But I also dont think he has the best lateral ability either. We're probably lucky that his record is as good as it is.

Yamatmoto might be LTIR worthy here, next concussion might become a vegetable
Im more just worrying about the human at this point. Like Tua in the NFL. Dude should probably not play anymore. I’m not sure if Yams should either….
I don’t want him to be 40 and having headaches and vertigo everyday
