Ok, I think I’m finally at the point where I think it’s time to move Beau. He’s one of the few guys with speed and he was a monster in both ECF runs, but….it’s just not happening with this kid.

Also, Wally needs to stop handling the puck like it’s made of plutonium. Dude bobbles more passes than anyone else on the team

Mayfield does some things better than Pulock, he has more success jumping into plays and scoring some nice goals with his wrist shot.

Pulock has an elite slapshot but the slapshot is kind of dying in today’s game and he doesn’t really get wrist shots through that much.
In order it to be elite he actually needs to hit the net with it IMO. It’s great he can bomb a shot at 100mph, but when it gets blocked or misses the net 90% of the time, it’s not an effective tool

Hard to believe Brock Boeser is still goaless this year, I think he would look great in an Isles uniform. No that isn't an ironic intended statement. He and Barzal who beat him out for rookie of the year could potentially form a good tandem. More irony, as it isn't lost on me they are both goaless this year. Make it happen Lou.

Not sure I believe too much of what Johnny Columbus has to say

Agreed, while "he" might not have talked to the Islanders, someone from his team probably reached out, fanned the flames with leaked information in order to try and drive up interest as soon as Philly was out.

After all, didn't Jarmo say that JG's agent reached out to him? So makes sense that the agent reached out to all Northeast teams, and we know that the leak didn't come from Lou.

You can't have a bidding war when there is only one team publicly interested in NJ. And by using the Isles, the agent knows Lou isn't going to come out and correct the fake news.

His agent is a representative for him. If he whipped up a frenzy among Isles fans, then that is on him as well. Deal with it Johnny Columbus.

The Isles should finally be able to land a top-six forward. Everything is lining up.

For once, the bad teams looking to trade are mostly out West and should be looking to move their players East, so they don't have to face them. Recently it seems most of the players have been going the other way, which typically means that the Isles would need to tack on a premium in any trade.

The Isles have the cap space to acquire most players with very little retention. That should also help since most owners love to save real $$$.

The Isles have NHL players in Wahlstrom (RW) and Beau (LW) they could include, quality prospects in the AHL in Raty (C), Dufour (W), Holmstrom (W), Bolduc (LHD), etc. playing well and on the doorstep of the NHL, and all of their 2023-2025 firsts and seconds in the fold.

The Isles can do lots of different permeations in trade, other than include a top RHD player/prospect. It is time to get that last piece.

We all know what the Lou move is - Beau for Henrique

Lol, I get the pessimism, but I think Lou is going to go for it and will be looking to add a premium player he can extend and set the team up for several years. Try to capitalize now, while teams like the Caps, Pens, etc. are down and before younger teams like the Devils, Sabres, etc. learn to win in the playoffs.

He could be, but hes also older than Pulock and hes not as good. Id love to resign Mayfield, but I wouldnt move on from Pulock if we did. Personally i think the biggest strength of this team is the deep and talented defense, its a top 5 defense incthe league.
Mayfield is getting PAID this summer. Not saying it will be by us necessarily but he's getting a monster contract.

Beau needs to geau. Not sure we’d get much for him.

Unlikely in division, but to PIT for Kapanen?

Similar value, both guys need a change of scenery.
You couldn't trade Beau for a 10th round pick just to get rid of the contract. (Yes Cronin I know the draft isn't 10 rounds). If Beau was a free agent this year he's probably getting getting 1.5 million dollar deal. He's way over paid. Maybe the most over paid islander ever. Even Ladd had a good resume and put in the time in the NHL to earn that. This guys just simply overpaid.

Frustrating and disappointing with AB. Low maintenance team player that has wheels and some skills that have produced in the post season. Just gonna have to eat this salary for a while and hope he gets out of his own head and "has some fun" again

didn't we say that last season too double m?.....i say if we can turn him into something more productive, let's do it....might be good for him too since we now see his issue wasn't Barry as might have been thought once upon a time

if it were me, i might keep Mayfield and if it meant trying to move Pullock (if doable) so be it....aho will have a year under his belt and we could get a 6th (if not salo) into next season

sure I would shop Ab but just think his value is worth my commodore 64 I still have in the attic

plus strike before anyone else does and let's get a jump on it. when the games become more intense in the 2nd half, i'd like to be in position sooner rather than later to compete favorably

He's the most overpaid Islander ever and didn't earn his contract? Hot take.

Just me wondering but Jost who was just waived, seems like a Lou guy, very high character and versatile, will play any role just was drafted too high as he never really panned out into an offensive player. Maybe Lou knew he was going to be waived and wanted an open spot.

Not sure he has the defensive ability required.

Remember the rumor a couple of summers ago that we could trade Beau to MTL for Romanov and a lot of posters didn't want to do it?

That's because a couple of summers ago he was a blossoming, can't-miss prospect (and first-ballot hall of famer). Now after one sub-par season and slow start to this season, he is repulsive trash that needs to be dumped asap for a bag of pucks. That's how we roll.

I would put in a claim for Jost. 2m AAV for the rest of the year. Might as well take a shot on the kid. Doesn’t work out doesn’t hurt us much. Gotta be better extra forward than Ross. Haven’t seen him much but I liked his game with the aves and remember him being a decent prospect at the time.

Also with Jost, saw him and Barzy are good friends. If it works out makes beauvillier even more expendable. Let’s see if he even makes it to us on waivers, would think a lower end team might take a flyer.

I hope the Flyers take him so we can see all the Wild fans lose their minds about how they lost him for nothing and he was never given a fair shake.

For real. He must be too young to remember the Yashin years.

I'm cool with it, but only if he still has to tell jokes that Michael Che wrote for him.
