Some thoughts are better left inside one's head.
Some thoughts are better left inside one's head.
that would be really weird and somewhat unbelievable.
Logan Mailloux?I've looked at Montreal's roster and system a few times because I've seen them mentioned as having interest and I just can't find the right assets that we'd want and I think are realistic for Montreal to give.
Marchenko? He would be interesting. AlsoJiricek. Thats about it. Their young russian wingers would be kinds interesting but we need more.
He's an interesting player, but even putting aside that I personally wouldn't want to bring this person in, I don't think he's close to the right value.Logan Mailloux?
Ummm....I did specify signed in the post that you quoted. Please no. Necas for UFA rights? Ouch
that doesnt change the parameters. we would still be trading for his rights.Ummm....I did specify signed in the post that you quoted.
How is that? If Vancouver signs Lindholm and then trades him to us for Necas and Kk, how is that the same as trading for his "rights"?that doesnt change the perimeters. we would still be trading for his rights.
because you trade for a guys rights to sign him. ufa rights dont have the value and an 8th yhear wont bring the AAV down enough to be of any value. How is that? If Vancouver signs Lindholm and then trades him to us for Necas and Kk, how is that the same as trading for his "rights"?
Not if he is "signed". Then you are trading for the contract.because you trade for a guys rights to sign him.
Gaudreau? There's an article on the hockey news saying that Waddell should trade for Nachos for the Jackets. Any pieces they have of interest?
there is no difference. Not if he is "signed". Then you are trading for the contract.
:barf:Gaudreau?
Is there a deal even close to this that's ever happened that you are aware of? When guys are a month or less from UFA, it's typically a mid round pick or less because the trading team doesn't have any leverage if they aren't going to be able to/don't want to keep the guy.Not if he is "signed". Then you are trading for the contract.
But what about the parameters?that doesnt change the perimeters. we would still be trading for his rights.
severson cost a 3rd on a sign and tradeIs there a deal even close to this that's ever happened that you are aware of? probably the better one to use hereBut what about the parameters?
Yes, most deals are a mid round pick or less whether a true sign and trade like that or just getting the rights and getting the guy signed. The only crazier one I remember is the Hartnell/Timonen trade many moons ago and even then the value was a pick. Sending those two players would seem to be a gross overpayment for this type of situation.severson cost a 3rd on a sign and trade

yep, they could add the Jets first and I still wouldn't be interested. Trocheck, a guy with an injury history and older than Necas that Florida was looking to move to clear cap, still returned Haula, Wallmark, Eetu, and Priskie. He's an interesting player, but even putting aside that I personally wouldn't want to bring this person in, I don't think he's close to the right value.
no, nothing prohibits a sign and trade. Just not a NHL past time. The only way a gaining team can get 8 years is if they are sign and trades. You have to be on the roster by the trade deadline to be eligible to sign a guy to 8 years, until July 1st.@Lempo as our CBA expert, wasn't there something in the CBA that prevents "sign & trades"...where it HAS to be a trade then sign (even if a contract is unofficially agreed to)?
I think this is slighty misinterpeted from the fact that you can extend a player for 8 years if you had him on the last TDL. So if you want to trade for someone between TDL and July 1 on a brand-new 8 year contract, it has to be a sign&trade.@Lempo as our CBA expert, wasn't there something in the CBA that prevents "sign & trades"...where it HAS to be a trade then sign (even if a contract is unofficially agreed to)?
It’s a nice thought, but it’s about as realistic as me landing a date with Sydney Sweeney.
I like Dach but I'm not certain that Montreal wants to bail on him just yet and it's a risk with the injuries. If the Canes traded Necas to the Habs, I would want Kirby Dach. At his peak potential, he's exactly what our team needs.
1 - can't see them having him on the block and 2 - he just missed essentially the entirety of last season, I'd like to see how he bounces back before even considering it.If the Canes traded Necas to the Habs, I would want Kirby Dach. At his peak potential, he's exactly what our team needs.
