We need less delusions and more solutions. We need less play to get paid and more play to get laid. We need less we gotta do's and more men showing up in their big boy shoes.

Again what does that have to do with the players? Managers have the ability to say no. Players play, managers and management teams build rosters and draft. If you’re upset about the lack of center depth that has nothing to do with any of the stars and everything to do with the organization not drafting well and their pro scouting department not hitting on UFA’s or in trades.

We need to trade for a C. We dont need Marner at wing as much as a C

Lmao what is the correlation? I’ll tell you, zero correlation. We’ve traded Liljegren and shed cap, Reaves can be waived again just like last year. Same with the big RHD that’s escaping me. What does Marner at wing have to do with acquiring a a depth center? We have enough cap to pick up a center at any point in the season. We’ll also accrue more cap by the time the trade deadline comes around once guys are healthy and waived and or traded.

Just another horrible take.

Trigger Alert!

Don't listen to Berube pre game presser, agreeing that Marner does remind him of Datsyuk.
Interesting. On the radio driving home, they were talking about how they compared Matthews to Datsyuk before he got drafted. More the stick work and the ability to win puck battles.

This only proves that Berube definitely has CTE.

not sure that’s a ringing endorsement, since they haven’t won diddly squat

Yall will find anything to try and spin it negative. I’ve mentioned it before. Marner is def a glue guy. You can have many types of leaders. He may not be your prototypical leader in terms of what fans fantasize about. Balls to the wall on the ice. But the reality is within the team he does demonstrate leadership behind the scenes, whether that be organizing stuff, making people feel comfortable ect. Every team has guys that show leadership in different ways. Hopefully he can take the next step in the playoffs and demonstrate even more of the leadership ability on ice, but there shouldn’t be a question at this point about him as a person anymore. We have enough anecdotal evidence to prove he isn’t some bad person. A lot of the personality criticisms seem to be wrong and unjustified.

On ice criticisms are fair and warranted and only Marner can change those narratives through his play.

Lol he was specifically asked if any players remind him of Datysuk

He thought a bit. And said I'd need to think about that and get back to you (or something like that)

The reporter than says...Babs said Marner reminds him a bit of Datsyuk

Berube...yea they both play 200 ft games...

...... what's he gonna say on Camera about his own player on the spot when a reporter favorably compares him to an elite player? Absolutely no similarities?

His answer initially was no, not off the top of my head lol. Even though he's the coach of the Leafs and Marner is a player on his team.

"He's fun and entertaining"... not the typical hallmark of a great leader.
Lol Kadri promoting his book talking about one of his really good friends.

Kyper: is Marner underappreciated here?
Kadri: (somberly)...Ummm.. absolutely, absolutely.

..Ummm?Had to think a bit?

"He's a guy id take on my team any day of the week"

Kadri is careful not to call Marner one of the best in the game.

I'd hope he would take him on his team any day of the week. Is that a shining endorsement?

None of this sounds like a player describing a elite player, especially considering they are good friends.

Imagine if a player, was talking about Kucherov, Mackinnon or most any 11 million dollar players. You would enthusiastically say "completely underrated, one of the best players in the game!!...its insane he's treated the way he is!!".

Marner Only Fans keep posting videos of players asked specifically about Marner and they give positive but meh compliments.

OMG Marner was compared to Datsyuk by Berube. But don't mention that Berube initially said he couldn't think of anyone off the top of his head. Then the reporter specifically asked him if Marner does lol.

I didn’t know you were in Kadri’s brain as he did the interview. Everything you said in this post is speculative and just your own thoughts projected onto Kadri’s words. I’ve never seen anything like this in my life. Someone who micro analysis every quote to try and find a negative point of view. I work with kids who lie, have wild imaginations, make things up everyday but nothing takes the cake quite like your posts after a player speaks about Mitch.

It's what they did with Nylander. When he was hot the sell was on full display every single day in our media. Agents greasing the wheel feeding the envelopes under the table no doubt.

The rabid hype machine is so obvious

Whoop whoop!

We are so lucky to have a player whose good friend pays him such grand compliments....pay him 12x8!

It’s just sad more than anything, I still wanna know what he did to you tho! Must have been something real bad
...lol, my opinion hasn’t changed since it wasn’t the popular one. I said it back in Game 2 of the Montreal series: “Marner’s style won’t be successful in the playoffs.” Five playoffs later, I’m still right, and now the rest of the hockey world is asking the same question I raised five years ago, despite the relentless spin from a few die-hard Marner fans.

You and the Marner Fan Club are comparing him to Gretzky, and you're asking me what he did to me? Think about that… all this negativity surrounding him, yet you’re comparing him to Gretzky? Who’s really being delusional here?

It’s been said many times in this thread. No one gives a shit whether Marner is kept or signed. But currently he’s a maple leaf and I’m going to support him because he’s a maple leaf. I want him to do well so we can do well in the playoffs. It’s a simple as that. I would never actively root against a player on our team.

Lmfao please quote me when I have compared him to Gretzky? You won’t be able to because I’m pretty sure I have never done that.

And lol like I said the other day, The Marner Fan Club, Marner Only Fans, that joke is unoriginal and just flat out sucks ass. Come up with something funny and creative at least to troll and make it interesting!!
