This thread and in general social media/online Rangers chatter are essentially turning into Lord of The Flies minus the violence.

It's mostly fan fiction or the quintessential New York "We shall see" catchphrase that keeps coming back to the same 4-5 points.

-Lindgren or Miller are not getting traded
-Cullye/Othmann/Edstrom push for roster spots.
-Goodrow is gone and a replacement is needed
-Jones either is given a chance or traded
-Fast is not coming back (taxes will lower his net, he was slighted by the prior regime, and he's not a big city guy).

-Many of us are awaiting for Mark Ciaccao to be relieved and the more it remains quiet, the less likely it happens.

I’m not totally opposed to resigning Kane. A lot depends on what type of injury the team knows about and what can be done about it.

I’ll say that by adding Kane, I’m not in total love with the top-9 in general though. Unless a couple of guys change the way they play, it’s not enough puck hounds.

I only want Kane if we're also getting rid of Panarin. If Panarin is staying, I don't think Kane adds enough to the team to justify the cap space (unless we're getting him for pennies).

How NHL-ready are some of the prospects like Edstrom and Rempe? Can anyone who's seen them in Hartford chime in?

Stat-watching doesn't tell us a whole lot.

There are some free agents that might be cheap. Blueger is one guy I thought would be a good fit.

Engvall seems like he could be a Goodrow-type and maybe a bit cheaper, but I like that he carries the puck in transition.

So Engvall fights? Not a goodrow type at all.

Rempe will have a hard time becoming a regular nhl’er. Type that probably gets called up for a few nhl games to provide a physical presence

Is there any reason there is noise to re-sign Kane but no noise to re-sign Tarasenko who was much better

Fast was a big blunder but I don't see why he "forgets" that and comes back here. We already jilted him once and there's no reason Carolina doesn't extend him an offer before he hits the market. I doubt he'll be a Ranger and it won't be Drury's fault.
I don’t recall the exact quote, but didn’t he essentially call the team lazy when he signed in Carolina? In hindsight, one might think he was referring to Bread. Perhaps he was sick and tired of doing literally all of the dirty work.

I like Jesper but he’s another one of those guys where we need to find the 22 year old cheap version. He also made it pretty clear he was done here and I’d be shocked if he even talks to Drury about a contract.

My realistic offseason

Promote Cullye, Robertson, Jones, Berard, Lockwood
I think those additions add some life in the bottom end of the lineup.

Integrate the kids into the top lines

Panarin Zibanejad Kakko
Lafrieniere Chytil Berard
Kreider Trochek Cullye
Vesey Goodrow(if he is still here) Lockwood

Putting Kreider with Trochek isnt a demotion as much as it is about balance and opportunity for the kids, i liked his game with Trochek and adding Cullye to that line would make it tough to play against. Berard is a dog on the puck and i think would compliment those guys. Lockwood is a sparkplug and we could use that.

I don’t see the Rangers Dmen as an issue it’s more getting some bangers as mentioned but can you blame Drury ?

After Tarasenko I’m sure the plan was getting a Barbashev depth guy but Kane forced his way and how can you say no?
You say no by coming to the conclusion he's 35 years old, has a bad hip and only had 1 good stretch the whole season (the last couple weeks before the trade deadline) and that he is not what this team needed. Make a trade that makes the team better for the playoffs; not star chasing, which has gotten this team in trouble for about the last 100 years. It rarely, if ever, works. I don't care if Kane only wanted to play for the Rangers (or maybe 1 or 2 other teams); whether this was Dolan screaming for Kane or Drury chasing him on his own, it was bad roster construction.

I love the idea of people posting on this forum in their underwear on their couch saying “does Panarin have the will to win and if traded, would even want to go to a playoff contender?”

Just absolute nonsense from some of you lol
Guarantee some here have more will and guts based on what they've done for our country.

Bring back Sammy Blais.
Blais himself wasn't really the issue. It was Gallant/the organization thinking he was a top 6 player.

Put Blais on the 4th line with Gauthier. The forecheck would be good.

But the Rangers prefer scrubs on the 4th line and in the top 6 it's bananas.

Blais had 20 points in 31 games for the Blues averaging 14+ ATOI.

He's not a fourth liner. He just played like one here.
