how disappointed are we all going to be if the rangers trade no one and stand pat on all their first round picks

Some of you guys act like these picks are sure bets .

It’s possible none of these picks work out for us . That would actually be the Rangers luck to be honest

It's better than acting like these picks will all suck!

The Rangers have been a pretty good drafting team for more than half a decade now, I'm not sure where you get this from

That's what I fully expect to happen.
As long as they make the right picks, it's all good.
This draft makes or breaks JG IMO.
Don't f*** it up..

One of Zadina/Tkachuk/Wahlstrom with our 1st pick - even if that means moving our 2nd rounder to move up

Bokk/Kaut/Kravstov/Marchenko/Addison are who I'm looking at with our picks at 26 and 28
- I'd even move on of our 3rd rounders to move up to get Kravstov

I don't expect Spooner/Names/Hayes to be traded for picks at all. If they are moved it is to package with a pick to get a much better pick (aka a pick swap rather than acquiring an additional pick) or to get a player that already ahs NHL experience.

I suspect that they won't end up moving up because the cost will be prohibitive and they'll find that someone they want will be available at 9 anyways. The exception could be if Zadina falls, they may be willing to spend more to move up than they would otherwise.

Same kinda deal with moving up into the top 15 with another pick. I think they'll try, but the price will be too high so they'll stand pat. I think they'll make some other trades in the other rounds.

e: if a team is really interested in moving back to add someone like Spooner I agree I could see that happening.

If Hayes is dealt I expect it to be for a young near NHL ready player and a pick, not necessarily for another 1st rounder or something. The Rangers are rebuilding but I think they also want to get players who are close to NHL ready and not just stock pile draft picks. They did this at the deadline with acquisitions like Lindgren, Hajek, Rykov, and Howden. All prospects but guys who could step in within 1-2 years, rather than go through a full 3-4 year development cycle a new draft pick would

Farabee gone before us would be AMAZING!

Huh..You said you would pull the trigger on the Skjei deal with an added 2nd, possibly Farabee?
He's not going before #9.
So I said that I don't think he'd be available by the time you make that pick (2nd)
Therefore I wouldn't make that trade..

I would easily do:

1.
Skjei for Hamilton

2.
Hamilton and Namestnikov for 10th and Puljujärvi

Getting LDs depth don’t worry me one bit. We already have two vets at LD signed for 3 more years in Smith and Staal. Gorts picked up like what 5 LDs at the deadline.

Deal Skjei, I am all for it. Of course for a good return, I love Skjei, but if we can get a great return for him it’s wortth looking into it.

Puljujärvi should be a target. Really heavy RHS. 6’5, he is still growing into his body. Can become a star.

Whatever disappointment then will depend on who we pick. If the Rangers make trades that fine depending on the value. There are certain players like Hayes and Skjei that I don't want to see move so if either of those two were moved I want a really good return. I don't like the idea of forced trades though. The Rangers should make a trade if it's good deal for us--just making trades to make trades isn't really that great an idea.

No I'm just alluding to if he's gone at 9 that's great for us because that means someone fell.

Man I don't even like Hamilton all that much but the Rangers lose that 2nd deal for sure. Hamilton is a lot better than that and Puljujarvi doesn't have much value right now...not sold on him the way you are.

Also not sure at all why Calgary would trade Hamilton for Skjei when Hamilton is better than Skjei

For sure, from what little we've heard it sounds like the Rangers are on the same page...they're not selling Hayes, they're listening to see if anyone makes an offer that's too good to pass up
