I'm hoping that all the crappy players flooding the ufa market kills the market for fast and we can keep him for 2 more years

There's some stuff going on there that we won't get into on here.

But I sincerely hope he can get his career back on track.

And likewise, I hope Cuylle becomes the player I think he can be for the Rangers.

Let there be value for both teams and happiness for all....

Just more for us

us.
. I understand. I don’t care about gossip. I wish Lias well and hope he finds happiness whether he makes it in the NHL or not. I’m just happy we got some value back At least

Nothing like the guy who is negative when everyone else is positive. You just left out the "hope I'm wrong" disclaimer.

It's easy being the negative one. If things turn out ok, you get to enjoy it too. If things go bad, you get to "I told you so"

I just call things the way I see it.

Sorry if you can't handle the truth..

The fact the Rangers did not trade away picks, prospects for current or closer to NHL players to me indicates there may be a plan. Yet every time I start to think they are picking one likely prime age of one age or the other to build around they end up doing something that makes me question it.

There will be a pretty substantial group of lower tier players vying for very limited cap space this fall. Just a bad year to be a free agent with the flat cap.

Id say Lias not working out is exactly the issue with not having to fight as hard for ice time. We were desperate for Lias to play. There is absolutely zero space for guys like Cuylle Schneider and Berard rn, if those guys are on our main roster in 3-5 years it’s because they did EVERYTHING right. THAT is how you develop great NHLers out of non NHL ready picks.

Hajek and Howden weren't rushed, they just blow lol

In a lot of ways, so does Andersson.

This is a new era in Rangers hockey in terms of the quality and quantity of draft picks and we need to learn that at least half of them amount to nothing. That's just how it works.

They blew it or they had no business on an NHL roster yet?

There's a huge difference

No, he actually didn't. He's under contract with the New York Rangers.

We wanted to get a look at him in our system and decided he would be better playing at home for now. He's being acclimated to the NA game very slowly. That's the opposite of rushing him.

Right but after the fact, no?

That Hagelin trade.... ugh.

I think that is a great example of why its debatable if you should judge the trade based on the value of the picks and the draft separately or all by the final results...

gropp sucks...but players taken in that same 2nd round after that pick Erik Cernak, Roope Hintz, Jordan Greenway and Vince Dunn...some of those guys are now topics of discussion that we want to trade for. If we had taken one of those guys then the trade especially given the circumstances would be good value...it was 100% awful drafting but does that make it a bad trade too?

For like a month and then he came back. He literally skipped his sisters wedding to come to the play in round training camp. Doesnt sound like a “quitter” to me.

He left the organization until JD talked him into coming back.
"Humble pie " ring a bell?

He had the right to, he had a tough time adjusting to na at first and the rangers gave him that clause to return to Russia knowing it was a possibility it would happen. This 100% not like Lias who left outta nowhere and then requested a trade. Also the way they handled their development is TOTALLY different. You dont need 2 functioning braincells to figure that out.
