Really didn't come up in my conversations much --- we were focused on draft and internal stuff.

Dillon was a guy they really liked.

Haula has come up.

Granlund came up in passing.
Really think there would be an interest there with Granlund if the price is right.

My nipples were protruding disrespectfully when he said he models his game after Tom Wilson...

We're honestly have gotten to the point of having toooo many good prospects and players. There's only so many spots

Competition for jobs is how teams improve from within. This is the best possible situation you can be in. You have to earn your ice time!

Wallmark is the non QO’ed player I would go after. Seen a bunch of him. This is the bottom six role player we have been looking for.

I'm sad the Andersson pick didn't work because I can still see an NHL player in there.

But having said that, I absolutely love the Cuylle pick.

If there was one player to grab at 60 with the Andersson return, that was the guy I would've asked for.
I actually liked the Andersson pick at the time. I really thought the kid was a future captain/alternate captain possibly and mentally tough. I guess sometimes you never can tell but at the same time there had to be some red flags that were missed

There's some stuff going on there that we won't get into on here.

But I sincerely hope he can get his career back on track.

And likewise, I hope Cuylle becomes the player I think he can be for the Rangers.

Let there be value for both teams and happiness for all....

Just more for us.

Overall I feel pretty good about this draft, interesting to see this one play out. I'm good with the Rangers choices, and see why they made it. Will go in-depth later, but I had a number of player that stood out from what I was able to follow or run some numbers on where available. The beauty with kids are that these levels act as a benchmark at differing levels... and you can go deeper and find the real insight after. A la Vierling. Good pick, but not my radar. Tarnstrom... love the trajectory... didn't get on my radar.

There are people who do this for a living, I merely play around with this when I can, so it's not an indictment on their efforts or reasoning. A lot more has to happen for these kids before they make it.

But... if you get into probabilities .... you know that is math... The public data has so many selective sampling issues that it's hard to say boom yes... that's truly significant... or get to the causation behind the statistics. So all that being said, I came up with a wishlist this year of "gets" and players that I would consider, below is the breakdown of the team's that had multiple picks that I would have taken a flyer on:

CLB: 2
VAN: 3
LA: 2
DET: 3
SJ: 4
TB: 2
CHI: 2
CGY: 2
CAR: 6
CHI: 3
FLA: 5
NJ: 3
NSH: 3
OTT: 4
NYR: 2
PHI: 2
TOR: 3

Love your attitude!

P.S. Insights as well, obviously.

Talk to me in another 5 years.
K thanks..
Nothing like the guy who is negative when everyone else is positive. You just left out the "hope I'm wrong" disclaimer.

It's easy being the negative one. If things turn out ok, you get to enjoy it too. If things go bad, you get to "I told you so"
