An NHL team in Arizona was always a terrible idea.

Why we're expanding when there are franchises like AZ, Carolina, and others in dire need of a move I'll never know.
My guess is the NHL thought that Arizona was to the Mid-West as Florida is to the North-East. A lot of retirees with disposable income. They didn’t plan on them eating dinner at 5:00 P.M. and locked up safely in their homes by 6:15 P.M.

The possible availability of Thatcher Demko could throw a wrench in any desire to trade Georgiev before or during the draft. What a playoff performance that kid had.

Arizona is nothing like Florida. Yes a lot of retirees but much more vibrant lifestyle. This is not God’s waiting room west. The arena is a problem in that much of the money in town is on the east side of the valley and the arena is on the west side. That’s a problem for midweek games. The real problem is that the team constantly makes this an issue rather than shutting up and dealing with it.

22nd OA + 1st 2021 + ______.

<Insert top-10 pick, Or 2C, or 2LD with potential>.

Buch is the odd man out imo. Or ADA.

They both could be gone before next season. But, I think Gorton makes one big move this offseason and it’ll be for a young player that makes us better now and potentially in the future.

@Edge A LONG time ago you mentioned that there was a team within the division who was really high on ADA. Was that Columbus?

Don’t really recall it being a big interest. Canes liked him from his OHL days.

Canes and Rangers have circled around each other quite a bit the last year or so.

Keane and Skjei for Gauthier and a first was almost a single deal at one point.

Georgiev was discussed. Kreider was discussed. Zucc was discussed last year. But I don’t recall ADA being a thing.

Simple solution: Don't sign useless old guys.

Staal and Girardi were self inflicted injuries. Its was clear both were in decline (especially the former) when they were extended.
I appreciate how loyal Sather is. But we’ve had a great lesson in the past three-four seasons on the downside of going longterm with non-stars. I think JG gets it. Though the Kreider deal is mildly concerning. I like CK and am actually glad they kept him. But it’s still a bit of a red flag.

Bro - with all seriousness, this info is like porn to old f***s like myself who wished he had inside info like you do.

Screw pornhub. I’m ready to sign up for Edgehubs premium services.

The problem is that some of the best stuff comes out afterwards. Getting reliable stuff ahead of time is tricky.

As for this summer - I’d keep an eye on Calgary, Buffalo and Toronto as teams the Rangers might continue chatting with.

Possibly Chicago and Colorado as well.

He had 51% Corsi to Trouba's 44%. Now walk it out (walk it out).

Yeah, Corsi is the end all be all for sure. Pionk was a better player than Panarin this season as well.

For starters, the Rangers were a terrible Corsi team compared to Winnipeg and a better team in the regular season. Corsi is not an individual statistic. Trouba’s game started in his own end of the ice far more frequently than Pionk which has a huge effect on Corsi at the individual level, but it’s still a team-driven stat.

Also, chill with the snarky comments. Save the trolling for reddit.

As a business development manager, I can tell you some of the best deals never actually come to fruition.

Ironically, those deals often times spawn themselves into mini deals that seem insignificant at times, but ultimately aren’t.

I want to say he gets it but Trouba contract kind of contradicts it. He’s not worth anything near 8M. Even though I want to like him.

Maybe. I think it’s fine as I’m happy with Trouba as 1RD and taking the tough matchups. It’s market value (or maybe even a little less).
If you don’t feel Trouba is that guy, then sure, it’s a questionable deal.

it’s not bad. After year 3 or 4 it’s a highly moveable contract. The brunt of real cash will be paid by then. Also kreider is a physical freak so I don’t see him breaking down that quick. Also the way he works out and trains will be a good example for all the pups

Hmm Reinhart or Middlestad in Buffalo ? That team needs to do something different

Are there rumours AZ has Dvorak avail ? Or you just think he would be a good fit

I just think this is a Zibaejad type of deal where if Gorton can get this guy he would be a big time steal. If you look at his numbers they are mediocre but it's basically the idiots who run the Coyotes failure to put a coach in that can develop offense in his offensive players. They could surely use some young depth on their d core.

Got to be careful with someone like Sakic. You might be able to pick off someone like Nieto but the big game he's going to want too much for.

As far as the Canes I think the thing with Fox started that whole ball rolling. The Canes were between a rock and a hard place with Fox (who was going to walk away and sign with the Rangers anyway) and though the Rangers didn't give them commensurate value for Fox we really didn't take advantage--2 2nd rounders for a 3rd round college kid who hadn't yet played an NHL game.
