Vatrano and Tank both got shut down in the playoffs. Pass.

Get f*ckin' creative Drury.

I don’t really want him again, but Vatrano had a higher P/G during the playoffs with the Rangers than any season in his career during the regular season. He also clutched it with a goal late in the 3rd period of G6 against Tampa to tie the game. I wouldn’t be upset if they re-acquired him at all, but I’d just prefer to go in a different direction with this team in general.

The Vancouver Canucks were the main team in on Elias Lindholm. It doesn't sound like the other teams made an offer. This deal was in the works since last Saturday and nobody know. None of the NHL "insiders". It was done essentially on Sunday but they needed Kuzmenko to waive NTC and he was in Mexico on vacation.

Good read.

Brooks made it sound like the Rangers would leave no stone unturned to land Lindholm. The Canucks made the best offer and nothing changed that.

No, because nobody would've predicted Igor, this year, @ .899. Not even you.
That is not the critical/overriding pt

The pt is b'c hard cap does not allow a club to buy out of mistakes
it behooves teams to sell high for profit, including return of quality prospects/picks that look good, then develop them, and rinse and repeat.
The cumulative effect of this is you keep the best of what you acquire/develop, while staying ahead of cap, but earning a surplus, which is where you THEN get to play.

THIS mo IS correct.
Variance of a single player by you is wrong context.

Tell it like it is let your conscience be your guide.
You can admit bern is right. It won't kill ya.

I created a guy on NHL 23 named Jim Hornsmacker. He has all 99 slides and scores a lot. No idea why NYR don't just simply use the 'create a player' feature.

If they could, they would...
but NNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Agree go in a dif direction
Ducks want/need Ws, so he won't be cheap
when we got him from FL he was undervalued as a 4th when it was really a 2nd+

We should focus on 2 levels w/Ana:
- Zegras
- Helleson + Jackob Per.

He took a small break for mental health reasons.
@GAGLine Now that you mention that, I vaguely remember him taking time away from the team. Hopefully he can work through whatever it is that's going on.

BTW; I'm not directing this at you or GAGline, just in general; but trading him now would be moronic; you'be selling him low anyway. Defenceman take a little longer to fully develop and he hasn't been playing defence that long. He has the tools; he just has to get the toolbox.

I don't want him back, but I recall Vatrano having a decent run in '22 with 13 points. A big goal or two if I recall?

Yeah def but he is sooooooooo-ooooo one dimensional, not scoring a goal, he's useless.

Tank at least has more defensive awareness, but my 'meh' on him stems from his age/legs this spring. I don't think he's going to be better than last spring.

Just think we need a fresh slate. Get some new blood in here instead of the retread gang. Familiarity be damned.

@bbny - I also wouldn't mind him back but only if he's an 'extra guy' on top of a better guy coming in.

Also need more speed not less. He is one of very few NYR with above average speed.

Freidman spoke about the Lindholm trade. When asked about other teams who were in the running he mentioned Boston, Colorado, Winnipeg, Carolina and was speculating that Vegas may have been on it as well.

Zip about the Rangers.

I think Checking line Larry got played.

He picks the people who pick the players. The owner has to hire good managers. Has Dolan done that?
Since the lockout, haven’t we been one of the better teams in the League? Granted his early days (pre lockout) when all he did is throw money at the problem, he shouldered most of the blame. However after the lockout, he has been one of the top owners in the league.

I also don’t want to hear about how many cups we have won in his tenure. Newsflash we have 4 in our entire almost 100 year history! We aren’t the Yankees.

This is serious, I had a dream last night where Shesty kept getting beat on low left pad because he wasn't hugging the post tightly enough, and I'm like, dummy!

Said this from the beginning. Don Maloney feeding him scoops to put pressure on Vancouver to close the deal.

Friedman and Marek talking about the Rangers adding 2 centers (i like it), but mentioning Tyler Johnson like that does anything for us. The lack of creativity from NHL media regarding trades is remarkable. At least Brooks suggested a few guys who arent rentals. Johnson, Monahan and Henrique are just about the most vanilla players you could possibly add when gearing up for a playoff run. The teams who add them will not make it out of the 2nd round, us included.

In the new pod today, Elliotte mentioned the Rangers were interested in Lindholm.

Tyler Johnson is always hurt. Sean Monahan is also very injury prone. Henrique isn't moving the needle. I think the Rangers should look at improving the roster but none of these guys are changing the Rangers fortunes in the spring. The media needs something to talk about.

While I think our coaching is better this season I think this is the weakest team we have had in a while in other ways. Agree or disagree?
IMO....Panarin is much better but for me the jury is still out on Lavi at this point and if the defensive coaching is included in his " coaching " grade ......well we are even at best I figure . Cuylee/Laf are both better but Kakko /Zibs are trending down , Our goalie and D is atrocious . So I really don't think Lavi has helped much but I'm willing to give him the opportunity to turn it around .

A lot of his goals were clean snipes. The team needs a sniper. Not necessarily Vatrano, but anyone who can shoot it.

I was thinking this morning. It might actually be more beneficial to fall to second in the division.

I think thr Atlantic is going to send 5 teams so if u end up first in metro you will play WC1 which could be TB or Toronto.

I would rather take my chances with Pitt/Phi/Njd/Wsh/NYI …

And yes i know that good teams should beat anyone, but why make it harder if u dont need too.

So kinda hoping CAR passes us. It would make for a easier way up to ECF.

The players stopped listening once again.

Look at how well they looked at the beginning of the season when they were executing Lavs system.

Now they are back doing the same lazy shit they always do

Here comes Dreger pumping the Monahan trade rumours

2nd and a guy like Bonino thrown in tops please but doubt it !

Elliotte seems to believe the Flyers will re-sign Seeler before the deadline and Konecny this summer to a contract extension. The Flyers want to keep the player. Frank wants to trade Konecny.
