They’re not going to get that since he won’t get more than DeBrincat. He’ll get the usual top player deadline deal of a late first, above average prospect, and probably a conditional pick depending how far they go

ok right a first and an above average prospect?
So a 23 first in one of the deepest drafts in years, and an above average prospect so lundkvist or kratsov or othmann? Again giving up cost controlled kids for a pending UFA.
Look at what we just gave up for 3 players for a run. the only legit prospect we gave up was barron who couldn't crack the roster.
I dont mind moving picks and prospects for the right return, but we're weak in center, and we haven't really done anything to fix it, we shouldn't be moving things to acquire ANOTHER WINGER!

I have to say, if Drury's only moves this summer are to settle the family business (good start with Georgiev trade, now do Nemeth), bring back Motte on a reasonable deal and get a 2C (JT or Dubois) with futures (Lundkvist, picks, lesser prospects) that would be fantastic work.

The Metro division continues to shoot themselves in the foot today. Very happy the Islanders and Devils chose to pick/prospect hug and not acquire a 2 way star in DeBrincat who would've fit amazingly well next to Barzal or Hughes. And the Penguins quadrupling down on their aging core that hasnt won a round a round since 2018 with that egregious Letang signing. I get nostalgia and catering to Crosby, but at this rate he might be looking for a new home in a couple years.
