Precisely. Buyer's market out there right now as those with cap space are reaping the benefits.

This happened with Fiala too. Good young player that their former team didn't want to/couldn't pay long term.

Did Chicago send a letter to their fans? They couldn't even get a prospect or warm body back? Yikes.
I don't know about a letter but I think they made it fairly clear that Davidson would be making difficult choices to initiate a rebuild. Anyway, he did talk about this specific trade:

What is this Dach love like he's the messiah?

He's no better than Chytil or Kakko. As of right now, he's a winger. He doesn't make this team better.
I mean Dach is a center. And i'd prob say he's got more upside than chytil, but if we get him it would be to run a 1-2-3 of mika-dach-chytil.

I don't like Quinn or think he's a good coach but this is not a good reason to not hire him.

Do your interviews and your due diligence and make a decision.

The Bruins could have just posted a poll on HFBoards.

F David Quinn but yeah, this just reeks of incompetent management.

DQ needs to latch on as an assistant and try to rebuild his stock that way. Its probably the role hes best suited for anyway. Let him deal with the D and be done with it, he was pretty good at that here too.

Gonna chart out the trade tree but pretty sure trading a former 39th pick for the return Chicago got is some strong asset management.

It's been 7 years since Chicago won 3 cups in 6 years and Blackhawks fans are the most miserable people in the world. Winning cups is butt overrated.

Chicago is blowing it up and starting over. Maybe the Rangers can go raid the cabinet.

Lol at Quinn. Boston fires Cassidy to find a coach with a softer touch, who will be good with the young players. Chahly McAvoy couldn't save him from his results with a 1OA and a 2OA.

From Vancouver's POV, you also probably want a trade in place for Miller before Free Agency starts. Because at that point, you may lose a bunch of suitors who sign centers elsewhere.

Could be a fun next few hours.

He absolutely fits our timeline. We need under-25 centers to grow with Kakko, Lafreniere, Chytil, Othmann, etc.

They need another question mark like a hole in the head. Its a 3 year window right now before Igor's contract doubles in size. Dach is 21 years old and a team that's entering a full rebuild doesn't even want to keep him around, to me that speaks volumes. We are a markedly worse team next year if hes our replacement for Strome.

well considering they also got a 39th overall pick its solid asset management.
But when you consider that they got less for him than hagel technically. Though the 2 tb picks will prob be in the 20's-30's. Its still a weak return.
