What most of you Quinn haters are starting from is your ego, i.e. that you think you know better than him.

To me Quinn earned the benefit of a doubt based on how prospects progressed under him. Buchnevich, Chytil, Kakko, Fox, Lindgren, Miller (even ADA) - all moved in the right direction developmentally. So when Quinn does something that I might not agree with - I’d try to figure out where he’s coming from rather than cry and shout.

Recent case in point - how many pages of outrage have been made about bringing Jack Johnson and how he’s going to steal time away from prospects or more deserving vets. So where are we on this? JJ is being f***ing Bitetto on the depth charts!

So the point is before you go into frenzy - check your ego, try being more humble and give the coach a benefit of a doubt, at least from developmental prospective.

P.S. Lafreniere is going to be just fine.

no. What type of nonsense is this? Ego? So, anyone who disagrees with Quinn has an ego? I am objective. His lineup decisions have been bad for 3 years. What benefit of the doubt?

The mental gymnastics people go through.... check your ego. Blackwell over Laf is dumb anyway you try to spin it.

Quinn apologists are showing their true tribal colors. This has nothing to do with player development or past. The topic is 'Blackwell over Lafreniere on PP1'

stay on topic. learn how to isolate incidents and stop blurring all lines into a black or white scenario.

edit-
When Quinn does something good, I will give him credit... It's been a long and dry season so far.

Just curious - did you bitch and moan about JJ signing prior to the season?

I question Quinn's lineup decisions... I get 'well he's developed players, so he knows better than you'
I question Quinn/Olivers PP in 2021... 'LAWL, we had a good PP in 2019 so you're wrong'
I question Quinn's system... 'look at the advanced graphs, our perimeter possession and low quality shots mean we're good but unlucky. '
I question Quinn's leadership/coaching... 'The Vets fault'
I question how the team is never ready to play... 'Vets fault again'
I question the team is not prepared/sloppy 'The coach cant shoot/pass for them'

Nothing is ever Quinn's fault. There's always an excuse. Can't question him. Almost cult-like.

I was actually defending him the first 2 years but this season... it obviously has been different. Why should his faults be ignored??? ( here come the, same thing was said about < insert coach here > ) '

There's no actual arguing the point. It goes all over the place and into different tangents.

Disliked the signing and didn't expect him to play. ( If I remember right )

What does this have to do with Lafreniere getting PP1 time?

or are you attempting to discredit me for an unrelated opinion?

Wasn’t Montgomery reported as our preferred candidate after AV got fired? I could’ve sworn I remembered a lot of people pumping his tires

ya i recall he was the 1st choice but people have corrected me and said Quinn was 1st and Monty was 2nd.

Lol. This is one way of putting it.

Because there were pages of outrage here - for no good reason as it turned out into NOTHING.

Same thing here - if Blackwell doesn’t work out on PP1 and Lafreniere shows he’s capable - eventually Quinn will put him in with the first unit. This is what I mean by giving Quinn benefit of a doubt because he earned it.

am not worried about Lafrenieres in the future. The point is, Quinn chose Blackwell over Laf yesterday. They are both playing the same position on the PP units.

He chose Blackwell as PP1 bumper over Lafreniere? it does not compute and it really baffles me to the extent it's being defended.

It would also be nice if lines/units practiced together.

Rangers aren’t touching Montgomery with a ten foot pole. Dude with personal issues, and he rejected them once before?

No chance.

His opportunity to coach this team came and left in 2018

Monty would be perfect but fat chance. We’d Likely see Tony D running the PP again before he gets hired. Unfortunate because he was a good coach
Montgomery indicated he had other coaching options but that he chose Dallas. The implication was that his other option was the Rangers.

He is a recovering alcoholic and according to St. Louis media, he has been a model citizen as an assistant coach.

He would be an interesting choice if/when it comes to that.

Well, from the start of the season Blackwell has been more effective than Lafreniere so maybe he earned the first chance on PP1. After all this board talks tirelessly about “deserving” and “accountability”.

It also obvious that Quinn is making a handedness a priority for building PP units.

This is only because JJ got injured, not because Bitetto supposedly advanced above him in depth chart. JJ is still supposedly getting his legs back after the injury, this has been brought up during game broadcasts.

No, he played a game a week ago, but only because of all the injuries. It was said during the telecast that he needed to get his conditioning back, and was forced to be back in the lineup prematurely.

So another week has passed and he’s still getting his legs ready, lol?

I mean, I suppose right. Quickie wasn't a part of the Torts era core. Neither AV's or Quinn's squads are hard workers and blue collar
