Also if we trade krieder and sign Lee we are replacing him with a similar player at a similar price of around 7m aav and they are the same age. Let Lee sign else where for that price.

Stick to the pla. Sign 1 year stop gaps in fillipula, Boyle, or Ennis. Trade them and names at the deadline to get more draft picks. Finish and get in top 5 for the lottery. Then trade some of our prospects to get our big time player who is due for a big raise from a team that cant afford him bc they spent 12m on panarin lol
Appears the Knicks are doing the Veteran Stopgap thing fwiw.

Well first, if you discard loser points, the Rangers could not get worse than being the worst.

Hayes will not be in a contract year fooling a bunch of morons with big pockets [well played Kevin!]

Lundqvist a year older.

A bunch of question marks.

Not to mention it would be good for the team to try hard and still sink like a stone and hope for the best in lottery range.
The bolded makes me think of Diane Keaton.

So I’m in the middle of moving I’m trying to catch up... Panarin is at 13 million right now??

Which is why I'd Stick to the plan. Sign 1 year stop gaps in fillipula, Boyle, or Ennis. Trade them and names at the deadline to get more draft picks. Finish and get in top 5 for the lottery. I think this makes sense. But they need to resolve the Kreider situation (and others, is possible) before the season starts. At least that seems to be the plan.
A team is fine with a few vet mercenaries like McQuaid was. But I don't think they want to have reasonably-long-time teammates like Kreider and Vesey and even Namestnikov and Fast playing the season waiting for a trade. Not the desired vibe.

The thing that has shocked me the most is how silent Brooks has been in the last day or two. That’s never like him.

I really don’t think there’s much to say . They are not in on a lot of UFAs which is the right thing to do

Trades are where they could make an interesting move today once most UFAs fall

If we were out brooks would be firing off articles getting ahead of it and why we want nothing to do with panarin.

But he’s just waiting as well.

Look he’d be officially heading to the islanders by now if he wanted to be. Something is up and it’s not fla Columbus or Colorado

Islanders looking around the Metro and see Crosby, Malkin, Ovechkin, Kuznetsov, Aho, Hughes, and Kakko. No surprise they're going very hard after Panarin.

Thus, the Rangers enter Monday with approximately $18.44 million in space with a roster that includes last year’s varsity plus Kakko, Kravtsov and Adam Fox but with Brendan Smith with the AHL Wolf Pack. That does not account for the contracts pending for restricted free agents Jacob Trouba, Tony DeAngelo, Buchnevich and Brendan Lemieux. That quartet will likely account for somewhere around $15 million.
