Yeah but all arrows are pointing to the Islanders.

They point to the Islanders as being extremely interested with a very strong offer out there. They’ll never say if he’s willing to take less to play elsewhere as that would severely hurt his leverage with the other team whoever it may be.

Columbus is gonna need to get some players. There's very little uncommitted out there among UFA forwards. Dzingel didn't work with Torts. I'd imagine their first is off-limits in a Kreider trade, lol.

He chose the money over winning, not the first player to do it and won't be the last. Ultimately his decision though and to see Ranger fans bashing and hating on him for it is just sad. Was a fan favorite not even a year ago.
I mean, you say he chose money over winning like that's a good thing. Any player who did that is not a player I would want anywhere near my team. I don't hate the guy but I can't imagine it's going to be very fun spinning your wheels for 82 games a year and going home early. But hey that's just me.

Pretty wild to me that a top free agent would sign with the Islanders over the Rangers, even if they’re offering slightly more money. Even removing our rivalry, if you look at it objectively: they’re a bottom of the league attendance team, split time between two arenas one of which sucks for hockey and they don’t even know where they will be playing by the end of his contract.
Money talks. He can get paid and "live" in NYC at the same time. I doubt he really cares what the crest on the front of the jersey is as long as the paycheck clears.

But on the flipside;
- more $$
- similar living location but less pressure
- playoff team vs non-playoff team

The likely scenario to me is that he wants to be a Ranger but the Islanders have the better offer on the table and he’s not sure what to do. Hedger (CBJ reporter) just tweeted he hears the Rangers/Islanders are the front runners (to continue the theme of every reporter saying something different).

Don't think that would fly with them.
You're probably right. Maybe top 5 protected? But still probably not enough. Then again, at what point do the Blue Jackets become desperate?
Lottery protected but if CBJ miss playoffs, Rangers get 2nd 2020 and first 2021 unprotected. I'm just throwing shit at the wall here.

I call it the Paul Felton.

Fucc Zucc and yes I am salty. Hope he never sees playoff hockey again and is bought out in 3 years.

How in the Hell are you salty towards a player that wanted to retire a Ranger?

A player who took less than he should have to play here?

One of the few Rangers who came here and smashed whatever expectations we had of him?

I’m happy we moved on and didn’t give him a contract we’d regret as a team down the road.. But your post is straight up trash, man.

I’d love to see Zucc win a Cup. And I know I’m not alone. He gave everything he had for us.

You’re upset at a player who was having panic attacks that his time in NY was coming to an end. Shame on you dude. Seriously.

Yeah but both McKenzie and Freidman have indicated that the Islanders are either the front runner or expected to sign him tomorrow.

Now there is a ton of other conflicting info out there, but those are easily the 2 most reputable people reporting on this.

With Shannon more or less saying that we're out, this seems like a 2 horse race between NYI and CBJ and unless CBJ somehow pulls some shit out in the next 20 minutes, the end game here seems pretty clear to me.

Gorton didn’t know that Kakko, Trouba, and Fox would be here right now a few months ago.. That’s a lot of talent in a very short amount of time.

I can see why Panarin might make sense to him right now. I have a sick feeling he’ll sign here and as much as Im opposed......

I ultimately trust Gorton. He’s won me over. Dude can run circles around all of us when it comes down to building a team.
