I think it's good news. If he isn't set on being part of a package deal he's very much in play. I can't imagine him signing with the islanders over the Rangers if money is close. Would be absurd

Now that they’re not a package deal, watch the Rangers swoop in and land Bobrovsky.

Dale Tallon, you had one job ffs:

Twin signings on July 1 reminiscent of Glen Sather's and Neil Smith's classics

Right there with you. Lamoriello's pull scares me.
Lou’s pull...a.k.a. Outbidding everyone? Please. If he takes less to go to the Islanders it’s one thing. If the Islanders overpay, that is not “pull”.

That being said, my concern (if that is the right word), it was really dumb to leak out that Rangers wouldn’t go over 11.25 AAV three days before free agency. How does that happen, especially for an organization that has kept things very tight lipped under Gorton? That getting out is a blunder.

Panarin going elsewhere means another year of rebuilding. Re-sign the RFAs, don’t waste the left over space, roll it over to next year and try to get a top pick in 2020 while the young guys develop.

This is what I meant about “expectations”

Well it sure as hell sounds like he's about to.

Senile Lou is going to shell out a ton of money. He gives zero f***s about the implications on what the team will look like 4 years from now, he may not be around by then.

I don't really understand the whole Lamoriello thing. Are we really supposed to believe Panarin cares that much about him being in charge of the franchise? That seems like something that would be way down the list of priorities.

I have to admit, Panarin to the Islanders would be my worst nightmare.

Can this help?

1.

2. Kaapo Kakko

3. We currently have 12m committed for the summer of 2021.

4. By that time, Kravy, Lias, TDA, Chytil, Kakko, Buch, K’Andre, Nils, Fox and everyone else will really be ready to contribute.

Why do you assume it was intentional? Also, how is it a blunder?

It’s just kind of bizarre that AP has never been linked to the islanders before this past couple weeks. Shows me all he cares about is the $$$.

If Panarin wants the sun and state tax that's one thing, but the Islanders over us? Okay.

Looking forward to Lemieux's first shift against him.
A first period preseason hit on September 24th won't hurt anyone...:sarcasm:

I mean if I want Panarin, and know the Rangers are maxed out at 11.25m, I certainly know how to outbid them. I think that number coming from Brooks instead of like McKenzie tells a story too. The showed their cards too early. It’s a mistake. How is it not a mistake? Especially is Panarin was Plan A? I assume it was intentional because there was no logical reason to leak it.

No they've commonly been in the discussion. They weren't seen as a true possibility because they're the Islanders, but if he does sign there he's going to be getting McDavid money, or more.

He isn't worth that.
