DeAngelo is making $925,000 this season, but he’ll be arbitration-eligible this offseason and due for a sizable raise. Signing him for next season will require at least $3 million — likely closer to $4 million, or even $5 million.

McAvoy plays big. Krug we already have him in DeAngelo. can use more snarl on the backend that can play top 4 minutes. Oilers would be stupid to trade Nurse. I been a fan of his for a while. always been an underrated defenseman

I agree, but he is a significantly better goaltender, younger and cheaper. There's no way a return for Georgiev would look anything like what Toronto sent LA for Campbell.

I am not the biggest Nurse fan. Just think he costs you too much in relation to what you can get.

I do see some allure in him and how he potentially can become a bit of a piece that is tough to play against. But he also has some agility issues and issues with the puck.

I understand the logic, but we haven't seen any NHL teams try this approach yet really.

Not to mention that would really put us in hell next season with the remainder of S&S +Hank, with Shattenkirk's cap hit going to 6 mil.

But I agree with the article that the decision really has to be between Kreider and DeAngelo. The only possible alternative is to take DeAngelo to arbitration to keep the deal shorter and the cost down, and/or to move Skjei without much salary coming back.

Also, Georgiev needs to be dealt.

You argue points with no end in sight. When you do that you show signs of adolescents. Why not show common ground and move on to another discussion instead of beating a dead horse? We are all fans of the same team after all. You'd think there would be some kind of unity amongst the fan base. Instead it's passive aggressive insults and constant reminders of some ones "hot take" being incorrect.

And you can say go somewhere else but there's no where else to get insider info.

You think theres any unity around any fan base you are living in fantasy land. Especially because some people have some real bad takes, myself included.

I dig a ton of your guys' opinions, but lately, it seems like some of you think you get paid here by the word. Just the same stuff over and over. Staal sucks, how dare Henke not retire for the good of the team, my opinion is better than yours and I'll die on this hill, etc. I do know it's a forum for conversation, but wow. I miss Rangerland.net. I love the few that give info (that MAY have inside sources). The rest make me dizzy. Play nice, we are fans of the same team (some of us for way longer than others) … play nice and give constructive criticism. Old man going back to bed now.

This place is way less trolly than the Rangers boards on the old MSG forum that linked from the Rangers.com website before the NHL confiscated it from Dolan.
