Just remember, 1926...and the man is in the top 10 games for the NYR played. Has he played longer for the Rangers than you were born?

You know it is entirely possible to respect what hes accomplished while acknowledging that currently he is a really bad player who makes this team worse right?

Messier and Leetch are both franchise and league legends. I don't want either of them to suit up for the Rangers tomorrow.

So respect it... and stop busting on him almost every post. Can we agree on that? Because you mention him sucking in almost every post you make, and every silly comment as your username? I'm honestly curious, and no disrespect.

fans were begging messier to retire by the end of it. This day comes for everyone

I wouldn't expect DeAngelo to come in under 6M per on any contract agreed to outside of arbitration, and rightfully so because he has earned it. For a 1 year deal decided through arbitration, however, going from 925K -> $4-5M doesn't sound that far fetched to me. 3M isn't happening though. Not a chance.

Trading Trouba to make room for Lundkvist is so silly. You can’t have 3 510 offensive 180 lb Dmen on your right side that don’t play physical hockey. Trouba takes all the tough match ups and mins and brings everything to the table including what will most likely be a 40 pt season

Tony doesn’t even take defensive zone starts at all. People are forgetting that 25 is super young for a dman. You don’t trade a player like that away. im more than happy paying the righty Dmen. No one on the left side is breaking the bank anytime soon.

Not sure about #1, but can see them as an extremely solid #2 pair. With Trouba on the top and DeAngelo doing what he is doing, this can be a very good young defense. Just needs to compliment it now with some size and defensive play from the two other spots.

Breaking in two rookie defensemen plus Hajek also got a really good look. Our D is very young. Rangers scored 227 goals last year and gave up 272 for a -45. This year with those young D we've scored 171 and given up 169 for a +2. We have lots of + players this year as well. We still could tighten up the D a lot but that IMO is significant progression from last year. A -45 plus a + 2 added together is a + 47 over 52 games. We're almost a goal to the good from last year every game. It certainly helps a lot having Panarin though too but our D should get better year to year and we have a lot more great prospects to even get their looks.

DeAngelo being a beast and Fox basically being a Demigod from the outset helps.

Our defense hasn't been great in their own end, but they're a really young group so that is to be expected.

They've flown past expectations in terms of production though.

Notes on Trouba and Hank.

Rangers should explore trading Trouba and Larry speculates that Hank is getting bought out this summer.

Everything there makes sense to me, which is rare that I agree with Brooks.

Other than #5, Rangers are not becoming Buffalo for a myriad of reasons, there is no cautionary tale... There is one, that the Rangers may become the Rangers.

I don't have an appetite for another buyout. That $5m in dead space will be just as bad as the Shattenkirk hit. Stop us from making smart signings. That dead cap forced this silly 1 year deal for ADA. We will be paying DeAngelo maybe $2m extra per year and probably for a shorter term than if we had the cap to lock him in over the summer.

Oh **** off Larry with the buyout Hank talk

The team should be embarrassed if it’s true they’re even considering that.

Georgiev is not some next level talent to spite Hank like that.

If he wants to retire on his own, fine. But attempting to force him out via buyout is embarrassing
I can think of multiple players who should be bought out before him.

And what about the additional 3M cap space?

How does saving 3 mil in cap space stop us from making smart signings?

The dead cap space didn't force us to give ADA a 1 year deal. If we didn't buy out Shattenkirk, we wouldn't have had the space to give him a contract at all.
