“The Sabres may be ripe for the picking, and it’s sure telling that Wild pro scouts keep attending their games. Kelleher was in attendance Tuesday night when the Sabres rallied to beat the Anaheim Ducks with Cozens assisting on all three goals.”

-Russo

What’s a Cozens trade look like between MN-BUF? Russo also goes on to talk about how Cozens hasn’t been the same since getting punched by Hathaway two years ago. Wondering how much truth there is to that take.
Minnesota has a lot of good assets to trade, which is a problem for the Wild's GM because teams will insist on those good assets as compensation. Going to be hard for the Wild to win a trade for a while. But it's a good problem to have.

I bet they are scouting a lot of players. zucker, cozens, greenway, quinn, tuch.
Sabres prefer to sign both greenway and zucker. They likely aren't moving them unless its an offer they like or thr pkayers day thry wont resign

What’s the story with Quinn? What’s the ask?
More than you would like.

He was injured june 2023, had an Achilles injury and that takes 18+ months to fully recover. He played some last yr but got s different injury. This year he had a slump.

We are unlikely to be interested in Buium, as I understood on our board he mentioned Ohgren and Spacek.
Both would be available for the right deal, even though both(especially Ohgren) have promise. Cozens...like I said earlier, he's not all that desirable at that cap hit, even though I think he has the potential to turn things around if put in the right situation.

I don't see MN trading for either Zucker or Greenway.

Like who? Buffalo probably has it

They have a solid deep pool: Ohgren, Heidt, Yurov, Spacek would all be good adds. Bankier and Stramel aren't at that same level right now, but they're like Walhberg level assets; big physical centers.

There's an offer in that that would be well worth it. Tuch at 50% for 2 playoff runs would be worth a ton to a team like the Wild. They only have 2 forwards with RHS.

Yurov is untouchable! He’s not going anywhere ! Wild are trying to go after Brock Nelson also and have money to resign kaprizov! They are keeping roster spot for Yurov, he’s not going anywhere

Hate to see it, but I could see Guerin entertaining a Rossi for Cozens deal if he doesn’t like how negotiations go for a Rossi extension.

22-1-19 Ohlgren
22-1-24 Yurov
22-5-153 Spacek
23-2-64 Heidt

Hold my beer....

Buffalo has on its team or has played for them

21-1-1 Power
22-1-28 Kulich
23-1-13 Benson
21-7-194 Kozak
22-1-14 Rosen

In the AHL they have

24-1-14 helenius
23-2-39 Wahlberg
22-1-16 Ostlund
22-5-136 Komarov

In ncaas they have

24'-2-43 Kleber
24-3-73 Ziemer
23-2-45 Strbak
23-3-86 McCarthy

There are a few others I didnt list

Buffalo does not need more prospects

In a few years they will have to make decisions on their young players. Then some will get moved for picks, prospects or EKC

buffalo isnt trading Tuch.

I don’t see it at all. Hopefully I’m not wrong here but my assumption is beginning of year Rossi’s name got floated out there partially to keep the pressure on him. Seems to have worked and I doubt that BG is entertaining using him as a movable piece. Now, if he’s part of a trade for a bigger name C that’s still youngish and under contract. That’s another story. Still doubtful but you never know, does he package Rossi + for a player like Tage Thompson? No idea what could even be available out there but if he trades Rossi for Cozens, he will be run outta town.

I'm new here, Öhgren or Spacek for who? I could be interested in moving either of them

Buffalo is the team I have my eye on for this as well.

I can see this as something Adams would look at. I'm not sure if I would like it or not.. I'm leaning dislike .. the size really bothers me..especially for a Center..

But in a honest assessment... how much of Rossi emergence been tied to Kap?

Pretty sure he's been near ppg without him. Kaprizov has only played 37 games this year.

I don't know the exact splits.

It’s so extremely rare for 7 years of term to be traded. It’s even more rare for that to be scouted and transacted at the in season trade deadline. There are multiple reasons the offseason is better suited.

It’s more likely your teams would exchange guys who have no term. Guys who’s value and future do rely on short term decisions that have yet to be made and must be made shortly.

It just so happens both teams have a guy pending a deal that plays center. That’s the base of the deal I’d guess, if I were a guessing type of fellow, which I am. Rossi for McLeod?

I would argue that a lot of Kaprizov's crazy start where he looked like he might win the Hart was because he finally had an actual top six/top line center to play with. Rossi's good on his own for sure, not a product of Kaprizov.

Rossi for McLeod is pretty bad for Min ... McLeod is a nice glue guy .. good defensively and good speed but he isn't a top 6 guy.
