Walking around inside is clunky. Some issues I have when riding a horse, bumping into a tree throws you off, and people running in front of you when in town. I keep getting bounties for stupid stuff.

About 7 hours in. It’s a great game. But not a 10/10 game IMO. I would say I prefer God of War to it if I had to pick a GOTY. The awful controls really hold it back for me. Also idk how to explain it well but a lot of the game feels more like a playable cut scene than a game - by that I mean I feel as if I am going through a lot of the motions and there is not a ton of skill involved in what I have to do. I am still having fun playing it though, I just think the hype on it was a little much.

Playing more and it’s definitely getting better. The variety of options to make money make the bounties less of an issue, especially since I know now what a pain in the ass they are. I still don’t love the bounty system but I can at least play the game again after paying off the huge price on my head. I guess I’m going for max honor as the game is much less frustrating when everyone isn’t trying to kill you. I still have t found a blackjack table somehow. That’s my game in real life. I’ll probably waste all my money on it when I do find the table lol.

A guy ran into my horse and I got a wanted level.

I'm trying to be a good person here, and you're making it very hard!!!!!

Shady guy runs away screaming how I was in Stillwater . ..do you let him live? Well, I really can't take that risk , right ? I lose honor? Cmon?!?!?!?

One thing I find helps, even though I always forget to, is to put your bandana on when you think you might be getting into a little trouble. I try to wear it unless I’m going through a town.

I gotta get used to this game. I tried to pay the bounty for said crimes at the sheriff's office. He proceeds to shoot me, kill me and double my bounty! This is going to drive a good man bad !

FYI you have to pay it at the post office.

I haven't had many issues with bounties, though I'm not going around killing lawmen and random people. I've been in my fair share of shootouts, though, and I've found that if you escape before the law sees your face then there's no bounty on your head.

The bounties suck. Early on I could afford to pay $25 to pay it off easily and now they're over $200. Wouldn't be that bad if I didn't have to share my take with the gang. I don't have the money to pay them off so I have to loot bodies which just kills your honor. Hunting doesn't seem to be making me much money either with selling of pelts, gambling doesn't win you enough so I'm stuck avoiding half the map.

I bought a camp boat and picked up some better bait. My day now consists of me waking up, shaving, putting pomade on my hair I got cut (easier than putting on new hats every other minute), killing an animal to donate to camp, fishing all day and finishing up with a bath while flirting with the girls in the bathhouse.

I tried lassoing a guy for a bounty for like 20 minutes I’d press R2 and he’d never throw the damn lasso. Finally just punched him to the ground and hog tied him.

Well I spent a good portion of my morning playing this. I’ve been able to commit crimes and get out without a bounty. The system takes some getting used to and I still think it should reset when killed by hunters, but it’s not so bad.

Couple of missions into chapter 3. I find myself actually caring about the story which is highly unusual for me.

I’ve spent quite a bit of money upgrading my horse and it’s been worth it. Much easier to get away from trouble. I still need to just buy a better horse though. I’m still using the one I bought early on in Valentine. I just don’t want to waste money upgrading the saddle and stirrups again.

Sitting on about $800 which is the richest I’ve been but I’ve spent a ton on bounties early on.

What is the benefit of donating to the camp? Every time I return they’re low on everything but I haven’t really cared because I haven’t seen how it affects me if it does.

Also super annoying to get through a tough battle and get a huge score only to walk away with like 10% of the money. It’s rough but I’m getting more and more money as I go. Haven’t seen the need to buy a new weapon either as you get a few free ones along the way that are plenty sufficient.

I ve wondered the same thing regarding donating to the camp. You donate money to the camp to purchase upgrades, but I haven't noticed morale dropping if I dont go hunting for a couple of days.

The entire atmosphere of the camp is awesome, though. You really get the feel that you're in the west.

I think the upgrades make everything a bit easier for you (you can buy different stuff at your camp).

How do you upgrade the horse? I thought they improve by riding them and gaining stamina and things like that. I know you can upgrade their look but for a better horse I tbthoug you had to buy it. If you do upgrade it and it dies do you lose all the upgrades? Cause I took a train one time and when I got off my horse was on the platform waiting for me and when I got on him he was hit by the train and died.

How have you been able to commit the crimes without a bounty? I've used the bandana to cover my face yet I still get wanted.

I've noticed as long as you dont get involved with law enforcement at all, then the wanted level goes down. So don't commit crimes in populated towns. If the law sees you, then you'll have a bounty. Kill witnesses too.

I also just read on Reddit if you surrender yourself to the sheriff he'll take whatever money you have on you and waive the remainder of the bounty.

The horses do upgrade by riding them but you can buy saddles and stirrups that improve their stamina and health which allows you to ride fast longer.

To avoid bounties I keep things short. If I rob a train I only hit a few people and then take off before police arrive. If you get away quick enough you won’t get a bounty. The bandanna helps a bit but I think just leaving before you get too greed works best.

Ok so another question. I killed a legendary bear and have the pelt on my horse. What exactly should I do with it? I went to the camp butcher and he says to give it to the trapper that roams so I guess I just have to keep riding with it?

There’s like no area in camp you can store stuff?

If you go to your map, and press square, you can see every landmark you can get too and where it is. Go down the list until you see Trapper, and that’s where I sold my bear pelt. Not sure if there’s a better place to sell though.

I stole a train and the law managed to follow me all around the map. They even managed to make it into a tunnel in the mountains were I was parked to loot the cars.

There's a way around that one without killing him. Won't spoil it.

The game is amazing but there's a lot of little things that drive me crazy. Hunting, for example. Is there actually any purpose to it? It just seems like the amount you get for selling pelts is miniscule compared with the effort you have to put in. I clean killed a grizzly with a scoped rifle and only got about $5 for it.

There needs to be a better fast travel system. I unlocked the fast travel map in camp but it's not enough. It took legitimately half an hour to ride to where Flaco was, complete that quest and get back to civilization. No trains or stagecoaches around.

I'm also on chapter 3 and still haven't found a trapper. Also, what's the difference between stowing an animal you killed and skinning it right there?

I haven't had that much trouble with bounties. You need to just do your thing and get out quick, which can oftentimes mean you're leaving valuables behind. The second side business I robbed I learned my lesson from the first one. I put on the bandanna before walking in, went in late in the evening and got out of town fast. No bounty.
