I’m loving this game so far and I usually hate single player games. Already put a couple of hours in to it.

The game gets better and better the more you do those quests. Trying to make money with pelts and such is pointless.

Just play the game.

I feel like sometimes they lost sight of the fact that they were making a GAME. It’s gorgeous, the writing is great, the quests are very interesting and the characters evolve in believable and heartfelt ways. That said, some of the stuff in this game just becomes tedious pretty quickly. They went a bit too far with the realism in places. Keeping the horse clean, shaving, having the appropriate outfit for the various conditions etc. is an interesting idea but I find them more annoying than I do fun. I still am enjoying myself but I think they went overboard in places.

Tedious is exactly what I thought after my first 3 hours. I still feel that as this guy is a tamagochi, not a man. Much like his horse.

Then when you get past that, it's a beautiful game.

GTA
Gotten to chapter 2 so can roam about now. Visually stunning game. Controls are still a bit of a frustration to get the hang of, but Rockstar games always take a while to get used to the pace and responsiveness (or lack thereof) of.

I think the biggest word of advice for chapter 1 is use the cinematic camera basically anytime you get on a horse. Hold X and listen to the exposition while enjoying the scenery.

The musical tone once you get to the open world, admittedly very early, kinda of reminds me of BOTW. The game is slow paced and so is the music, often emphasizing the sounds of nature. Very populated areas though. The roads seem busy.

This may be my one game for the next year. Smash Bros is a short novelty for me and now I just wait for Spider-Man 2, GTA5 (presuming it stradles generations again), and for God of War to go on sale for $20.

This game is going for realism, but it can sometimes take up to 3 to 4 shots in the upper torso to kill a civilian?

Played an hour today.

I f***ing hate it.

I'm just not into games anymore like this, i dont know why i bought it. I'll probably get through 6-7 hours and never touch it again.

Just not into these types of games anymore i guess.

GTAV i played about 5 hours before i stopped too.

That was a long intro chapter. Like 3hrs of glorified tutorial.

Looking forward to chapter 2, and the open world. Probably wait till tomorrow though.

I can understand why people dont like the slow pace of it. Normally I would agree, but I f***ing love this time period, and this game makes it feel as if I traveled back in time to the wild west. The realism is real.

Be patient, I played the first RDR for a few hours, got fed up at the slow pace and rage quit. Came back to it an year or two later and really loved it once it got more immersive. It's like a classic film, takes a while to get going.

Although I did hear someone complaining that in this one, you have to micromanage your guy and feed him and shit which wasn't an issue in RDR so that part does sound annoying.

Finished chapter 1. Gorgeous game. However, I find the controls to be really clunky and it keeps throwing me off.

Excited to get out of the snow and explore a little today.

I’m not liking that part of the game either. I hated it in GTA:SA and I still don’t like it now.

This game is going to take me a very long time to finish considering the fact that my current schedule really doesnt a low for hours of game time.
