Is it wrong that the PS4 install size actually makes me not want to get the game?

Then again, I'm also a new dad, so starting a brand new massive open world game isn't high on my list of available time either.
I don't know . I found there was a new window for playing xbox, the "3am when the newborn is awake and you're waiting, watching him for two hours to pass for it to be time for him to eat"

Also, congrats!

Am I reading correctly that GameStop’s on the east coast (I’m FL) will release game at 9pm tonight? If so I might actually make the trip. Midnight releases are a definite no go though.

I've got a 3 year old and a 9 month old.

I haven't played an open world game since Witcher 3 came out the week my first was born. I just can't dedicate the time anymore. Part of me feels like I'm going to rush out of work tomorrow and pick it up and the other part is screaming at me because I know I'll put it in and play for 20 minutes at a time over the next 18 years.

I am probably less busy than you (no kids) and I feel like I dont have time for these massive games either. I have been working on Zelda for like a year now.

Ill probably still buy it though. Hey, for the Gamestop thing, can I just walk in at 9pm and buy it, or do you have to have a preorder?

I've almost never seen a game actually sellout on the first day, the only times I've walked into a store and couldn't find a copy of a new game was for more obscure titles. Games like RDR, GTA or Halo will have tons of copies available. Maybe if you live in a really small town this could be an issue, otherwise you should be fine.

For tonight you need the preorder, walk-ups have to wait until tomorrow.

For what it's worth, my local EB/GameStop has said they aren't getting a lot of copies, they figure they'll be out by noon tomorrow. That being said, I live in Ottawa so it isn't a huge store or a huge city.

Yeah I will probably just wait until tomorrow, I think we're gonna watch some horror films tonight. I feel like I have enough GameStops and big box stores by me where it wouldnt be a problem getting a copy.

The only time I’ve ever had any sort of problem, was Mafia 3. I went pretty early in the AM and everywhere was closed. Walmart didn’t sell it (huh?), and ironically Toys R Us had it in the back room. Not really the same but kind of a funny story.

I usually pre-order games, though. If I know I’m gonna get it, I’ll spend the money a little early and get a bonus.

Before Amazon and the rest of the internet really took off, games would get sold out all the time in stores (the big games), if you didnt have a preorder you weren't getting it on day 1.

AFAIK the way EB/GameStop works is that the number of extra units they get is based on a percentage of whatever they get for pre-orders, so if the store you go to didn't get a lot of pre-orders they won't have a lot of extras, either. Bigger releases don't really have this problem, but smaller games sell out all the time.

Amazon's way better about getting shipments but I've still occasionally seen games out of stock there for a while.

They've been awful with PS4 games since the beginning of this year. God of War was never really in stock until release day/day before or so. Don't think Spiderman had much stock either on Amazon. And then f***ing RDR2(which I know isn't Sony, but they get stuff first)...

Yeah, my shipment from Amazon has been delayed by a week despite having pre-ordered it over a year ago. I'm getting the game for $45 taxes in so I can't complain too much, but can't say that I'm not a bit upset. Was looking forward to playing it this weekend.

Bought it at Target who were offering $100 off a new S or X with purchase of the game. Went with the special edition since I didn't buy any sports games this year like usual, plus I have a red card with Target so I saved myself the $20 extra the special edition was just with that. Been downloading the new xbox and now game for the past hour and doesn't look like I'll be playing before 11.

My God of War delivery showed up on the morning of release day, which admittedly is a rarity. Actually maybe the only time it's ever happened outside of FFXV, which would have been delivered on release day had the carrier not... lost it.

In RDR2's case it's sounding like the shipping delay is more on RS.
