Things like this are a good example of awesome additions to the game which don't require any money.

Yeah, content is expensive, online is definitely designed to be a money-dump, but you can still play the game and not buy shark cards and have fun. Grinding in games is fun and rewarding though.
I never bought any shark cards. I managed to buy all the main businesses, a yacht, some supercars, etc. and did the more lucrative businesses until it got to that "grinding feeling like a real grind" stage.

I followed the weekly updates and did the things that payed double that week. Sometimes they pay 500k for signing in.

But as it got closer to rdr2 release, I couldn't grind anymore.

I preordered on the Rockstar Warehouse. Just got an email in my junk folder saying they are preparing the order for Oct 26th delivery and will send an email with tracking info 1-2 days before release (so soon). The delivery date wasn’t super clear when I checked out originally, so I wanted to give a heads up for anyone else in the same boat who might have overlooked their junk email.

Also a link to where you can track your order status yourself: Rockstar Warehouse

Mine currently says “PlayStation 4 Boxed Shipment” and has been that way since last weekend.

So the pre-order that I made on Amazon on June 8, 2017 is unable to be fulfilled for release day...

Edit: Estimated delivery date is December 7-11...

This game really makes me wish I had a PS4, wish they'd port it to last-gen. But then again, $2-15 PS3 games so I'm not gonna complain my backlog is a mountain.

Holy, that blows.

Any reason you pre-ordered from Amazon rather than GameStop or Best Buy?

The E3 discount doesn’t seem worth it for all the hassle it seems to create. Not for me anyway. I only buy 1 or 2 games a year on their release date so I’ll pay the extra $20 to make sure I get the game when I want it.

$20? 18Hossa is getting the game for $35 off, $10 away from half off.

I'm just so ready for this damn game. I hope it's as fun as I've hyped it up to be in my mind. I've purposely avoided gameplay trailers and leaks because I want everything to be fresh. So ready.

While it would be nice to have seen some single player DLC, the online game has received very extensive DLC.

Am I the only one who has gotten completely tired of preview material?

I’m not even tempted to watch any preview material and haven’t been for years now. I find it mind numbingly boring content. No matter how hyped I am, preview content doesn’t interest me. Spider-Man, Red Dead, BOTW, etc.... I watched zero preview content.

I usually read reviews and watch someone play for like 30 minutes before I decide to buy a game, but with a Rockstar game that doesn't seem necessary. It's going to be great, I just need to buy it.

REVIEWS ARE OUT!

Red Dead Redemption 2

97 so far! WOW. Sorry GoW, but you will have to take a backseat to the game of the year it looks like.

Are we surprised? I ended up enjoying Dad of War a lot more by the end of it but I never once thought it had a chance against this. I think I have Spider-Man over God of War even.

Found some info about Day 1 Patch: 3.3 GB on PS4 and 3.2 GB on Xbox 1. That is nice to hear, won't have to wait hours for it to download.

I know, but I'm still furious at Rockstar for promising single-player DLC and then exclusively focusing on a mode that you couldn't pay me to play for longer than 5 minutes. You can call it free all you want, but there's no way you can make online multiplayer appealing to me. Local? f*** yeah. Online? f*** no.

I'm not mad that GTA Online exists, I'm mad that it's not treated as a separate entity. I would not have bought the PS4 version (after owning the PS3 version) without the promise of single-player DLC akin to what they had done with 4.

Anyway...I've been in media blackout with this one, aside from following if it is an actual game or just online garbage like Fallout 76...very thankful that this is an actual game, at least. I'm psyched, I've been waiting for more single-player Rockstar open world goodness for far too long.

I've watched the two recent gameplay trailers and read a few tidbits here and there so I know the basics while not knowing much about the nitty gritty.

It's been a long time since I last went into a big deal game like this knowing so little. I'm pretty excited.

I’ve been playing this series since Red Dead Revolver and after reading the article in Variety today, they’re going to blow people’s minds.

I've been watching select gameplay leaks. I dont really consider seeing just base gameplay or side activities as spoiling myself. I want to know absolutely nothing story based though. The videos I did see only made me more excited though.

Is it wrong that the PS4 install size actually makes me not want to get the game?

Then again, I'm also a new dad, so starting a brand new massive open world game isn't high on my list of available time either.

Well I was a bit worried that the online aspects would start to take the focus away from Rockstar's single player games. The reviews certainly show that hasn't been the case. I'll be patiently waiting for this one on PC, it looks great.
