Living vicariously through everyone here. I get what I deserve for pre-ordering through f***ing toys r us Canada.
I feel as though this game is going to be a lot less grief-able. The problem in GTA is flying vehicles and Rockets and the like, I don't see how any of those kinds of things that can be game-breakers could fit into this game. I could still see the game being a big money-dump. I don't quite imagine that we'll have the big population of younger kids as GTA5.I hope the online is good, but I don't have much hope for it being any different than GTA online, which I didn't enjoy once the heists were completed. It just became a grief-fest.
Keep getting killed by O'Driscoll's when on the way to missions or into town, pop us as random events and then there's about 8 of them all surrounding me and it's game over when I only have my bow and arrow out for hunting!
Yeah I've only seen two groups of them. Both times they were blocking a bridge I wanted to cross so I had to turn around and kill them with my rifle from the other side of the bridge. I'm not sure where they usually hang out though.really? ive bumped into the o'driscoll's only once in about 20 hours of gameplay and there was only 2 of them. I may have been inadvertently avoiding their main region though, do they have a main region?.

I pretty much stopped attacking the random camps. Every time I do it I end up being wanted and have a bounty on my head and I don't even get that great of stuff out of them. Maybe I just need to use the bandanna. I bought the Executioner's Mask from a Fence and my guy wore it once but then just started putting the bandanna on again. Does it get removed from your inventory like some weapons do when you ride a horse? Is the full mask better at concealing your identity than a bandanna?

That, being wanted by the cops immediately and cougars attacking you quickly are all ways of the game letting you know you’re not allowed to be in that section yet.
I hate the movement, especially when near interactable(that's a word, sure) items. He either doesn't move far enough or moves too far.The controls are clunky as hell. Really hampers the enjoyment.
I don't dig open-world games enough to put up with how much I hate the awful shooting and clunky movement.

I don't mind the gun mechanics really. DeadEye is fun and the autosnap on target allows you to feel like a wild west badass. At least it does to me.
What smoke signal for hostages? What does it look like? I know I came across one super early on in a tutorial-like mission, but how does it look different from the smoke coming off other camps?I always get that when im trying to hitch my horse, if it were real life id look like a real **** riding around a hitching post for a couple of mins, to other people watching me.
Dead eye is great, the smoke signal camps when they have a hostage looks real badass when you deadeye the majority of the bad guys then waltz in
So I mark the trapper on my map as a waypoint, die on accident, reload my previous save, trapper marker is no longer on the map. It makes no sense since that was the save I used right before marking the trapper previously.
I thought one trapper was semi-nomadic. Travels to his different sites. Maybe the reload is just a rolling of the dice where he's at.

Eh, I don't know about the O'Discoll's being part of that. I've been killed by them 3 times in my ~15 hours so far, all of which have been in relatively close to base camp or Valentine.
Same story as with GBH, I'm hunting with a bow on horseback and get jumped by 8 or so people...by the time I get an appropriate gun out and start shooting I'm dead.
This barely registers as a complaint for me, though. The first time it happened it taught me to be a bit more attentive and the third time happened ~10 minutes after I got in a shoot-out with some O'Driscolls. The second time was the only time I've really gotten frustrated, because I was killed almost immediately.
That’s what’s been reported by a gaming website. You’re going too far out of the scope of where you’re supposed to be. That’s the way the Developers wrote it into the code.
I thought the smoke was just a camp to clear and take supplies if you wanted. I didn't know there were quests along with them. Every time I enter a camp I end up getting wanted because I kill a guy from a distance. Maybe I should go up and talk to them?while riding if you look and see black smoke rising there is a quest there usually a little camp. A few times for me it is another gang has a cop tied up as a hostage you kill them all and in return he "turns a blind eye" to you robbing the camp after, another time it was a tax collector.
Sometimes the black smoke is a couple of guys who try and rob you another time it was 2 guys with a safe I could spare them and share the loot (and get a little honor) or kill em and take it all for myself
edit: I think in the wilderness all smoke is a quest
Yeah same thing happened to me. Went to clean my horse in the river and got crushed. Went back and it happened again.Weird...one of them happened like 30 seconds outside of the base camp
