That's hilarious. Within the first hour of playing the game I put it on the cinematic camera only to watch my horse fall off a cliff and we both died  Haven't used that camera much since then. A lot of times though it feels like my horse goes out of his way to jump over some inane obstacle only to send Arthur yard-saleing off the back. Don't know how this horse hasn't died yet.

Sounds like the bounties need reworked, don't see how that would ruin it

I don't see anything wrong with the bounty system. It is hard to get money early but that is pretty standard for this kind of game.

People complain about everything, complaints don't mean whatever is being complained about needs to be fixed. You need to lay low in the early going: you are low on cash and firepower and the plot is about you having to lay low.

I got a large bounty put on my head in one state due to a story mission so whenever I go there I make sure to not go deep, never get too far from my horse etc... It's fun because it creates high tension moments.

I murdered everyone at the train station around Emerald Ranch (it was a fine coach that was begging to be stolen, I couldn't say no!) and I managed to kill all the witnesses before I got a bounty. Eventually enough people showed up (shooting people is a noisy affair) so I just ran away: the civilians found dead bodies, called the law who investigated but I didn't get a bounty cause they didn't know who done it.

People who complain about the systems in this aren't who this game is aimed at.

Now, if that horse had taken out the guy standing at the train station... oh my god. :biglaugh:

Keep getting killed by O'Driscoll's when on the way to missions or into town, pop us as random events and then there's about 8 of them all surrounding me and it's game over when I only have my bow and arrow out for hunting!

Progress the story a bit and you will unlock "manual dead eye" and that makes combat much, much easier.

Yeahh that's made it much easier now I have that. Also figured out that sitting still on the horse is also a very bad idea when being shot at! If the Dead Eye doesn't take them all out then now I just gallop to the nearest rock or building, jump off and then whip the pump action shotgun out and blast them away haha.

Getting further into the game now, not done a lot of side missions or anything and I still can't seem to get over how good the game looks. Think I'm at 24% Progression and I can't wait to see what the next 76% brings.

The plot isn’t about laying low at the beginning??? The f*** you talking about? It’s about the camp needing money and supplies and everyone has to earn their keep by any means necessary. You’re encouraged more than once to go make money in Valentine.

The bounty system flat out sucks. It absolutely should reset upon death to hunters with some penalty(losing the gun you have equipped or money or something). They shouldn’t keep tracking you down and killing you repeatedly. It’s like getting three stars in GTA, you’re killed and respawn with three stars. That would suck because then you’d be afraid to do anything against the law in a game where you’re an outlaw. It’s a terrible system that dissuades you from having fun. At least having an option would be a huge improvement. It’s somethibg that should be complained about because it’s terrible.

I’m complaining about it and I am the target demographic for this game. Mid 20s played all the modern GTAs, played Red Dead Revolver and Redemption. It’s a game aimed directly at me and I think the system flat out sucks.

So whilst I was gallivanting about the other day I came across a dying man who desperately needed medicine. Being the good hearted cowboy that i am I gave him some of my medicine even though he had nothing to give in return. Well back in Valentine I was outside the gun shop and a stranger was calling to me. I approached him and it was the guy from earlier. He told me I could pick any gun I wanted from the shop and he would cover it, so I walked in and claimed my free gun!

The game opens with the gang on the run and laying low before they try to go back to Blackwater.

Getting rid of a bounty is much easier than losing the cops in GTA: you can pay off a bounty from a different State.

I have killed scores of people in New Hanover and the biggest bounty I've had was a measly ten dollars. If you play this like you play GTA then you don't get what this game is trying to do, it isn't GTA. It just uses similar systems but to very different ends, this is meant to be approched like a simulator because it is so grounded.

What's an easy way to identity lawmen. I heard this person yelling for help so I shot what I thought were bad guys but they were lawmen. I had a huge bounty then.

I could be wrong but I feel like it's their hats that give them away. Usually cages on wheels are being driven by lawmen, one way to make sure is by listening to what the hostage is saying. You can go up behind and even talk to the person in the cage if you get close enough.

I found this weird cabin in the heartland region filled with I believe is a suicidal cult and skeletons throughout.

If there is one of the game's functionality that I found really sluggish, it's the "hitch horse" aspect.

I haven't done a main story mission in about a full day of playing, I really just want to accrue as many $ as possible because the game is really hard when you are wanted. I got the 4 gold bars now so ill start doing main missions again. Apparently there are at least another 2-3 gold bar treasure quests out there. one you have to buy a map off a guy in the wilderness (not sure where) or you can rob him too I guess

I found him near Flatneck Station at night. He's out with a telescope looking at stars.

The random shootouts with the O'Driscoll gang when you're off to do something are frustrating as ****. Like AF times a million degrees.

The buttons to grab guns are so confusing so you're stuck there trying to figure out what gun to get and they're just shooting you as much as possible. Only time I've died so far was in those and it has been twice already.

E: And my awesome horse died in one of those shootouts because it's a trash game mechanic.

E: Four times I died because they all just gang rush you. Such a **** game.

I don't care about dying, but I would like to beat it just once (then they can kill me for all I care for in the future). The problem was I was playing quite a bit already and wanted to do one more mission, but kept running into these eff's every time.

The ‘fence’ at emerald farms. I assume there are other ‘fences’ but that’s the first.

I agree 100% with the bounty system. If you go into a town and start murdering people you’re going to be wanted for murder. And if you’re going to be dumb about it then you should be wanted and have a bounty.

I’ve only robbed and looted in secluded areas where there are no witnesses and I haven’t had any bounties.

Now the stuff where someone runs into someone and gets wanted yes that sucks. But also I don’t race through towns. That’s like going 75 in a 25 downtown area chances are you’re gonna wreck someone.

I still think the shooting game mechanics aren’t very good, that’s my main complaint. Kind of just a clunky mess like the other guy said, I’m being shot at and taking an hour to use the weapon wheel to find my gun.

Another thing I find weird is game saves. I saved my game before a potential shootout and ended up dying. I reloaded my save before the shootout and everyone is just gone and my horse is way farther away than my save point. Weird.

Got a question about guns. I haven't purchased any weapons, expect the free one from saving the guy early on, should I or just swap them out for ones I find? I have one pistol, a sawed off shotgun, dual pump action shotgun, a repeater and another rifle with a scope. Sometimes I feel like if I don't dead eye kill someone I have to shoot them several times. Also if you don't clean them often how badly does it effect your shooting?

I’ll check it out tonight thanks. I can never solve those maps so I look online tbh. So I went to the location where one of the gold stashes are without the map but I guess they don’t spawn unless you trigger all the maps first
