This game was 100% winnable.

Once again, the Rangers shot themselves in the foot and lost it on their own.

Last year, we win this game 3-1. Where's the defense? What's with the stupid, pee-wee level decision making? We know they're better than that. Where is the issue coming from?

This is what's infuriating. It's bad enough when they play a terrible game, but these games that could have and should have been a win that we end up throwing in the garbage are what really skins my potatoes.

How the hell does del z have the same number of votes as zucc? Sometimes you have to ask yourself if people on here even watched the game

Like I said, I voted for MDZ because he won the game. So he won it for the Leafs.....does that mean it doesn't count?

Hagelin has to find some game again.
Hagelin is miscast. He's a sparkplug for scorers. Does dirty work, opens up ice to make room for creativity. Now he's playing with an inconsistent playmaker, and a 4th line center. There's nobody on that line to pot goals.

Del Zotto had one of the worst games of his career, IMO.

Girardi continues his up and down play. At least MDZ has been consistently good, so I can give him a pass for the occasional bad night. Girardi is having a WTF game every other night.

The worst part about the final goal is Kessel flubs it & it luckboxes right back to his tape

Which brings up another thing: where the **** was our hitting?

The whole main gripe about "one gonad man" is that if another team plants him, he plays the rest of the game scared. Absolutely no answer to him, Kadri, JVR.

Winnable game.

It's not winnable when your "top pairing" pisses away goals for the other team.

Staal is the glue of our defense. He needs to be back ASAP. Heck, I take One-Eyed Staal over the Del Zaster we saw tonight.

Wouldn't surprise me in the least to see them lose the next few, if not every one this week. They've had their up week to get our hopes up, now it's time for them to come back to earth. Happens every time.

This is what I like against Rangers, they always bounce back (at least against us).

Nash looks unreal for you guys. He owned our 3rd pairing (no idea why our coach put them against him anyways). Captain America was pretty good too. Torts may not be the most liked person right now, but he did exploit a flaw. Leafs tend to use boards to clear the puck, and he crowded the boards making it tough to clear. Of course, Leafs changed strategy in intermission, but I'd give him that.

We actually outhit them, according to the boxscore.

But there's never enough punishment in our hits.

The only guy who deserves blame for this game is Torts.

Have to disagree. I'm as big of a Torts critic as anyone, but this game was lost to simple defensive mistakes. The Rangers are at their best when they're physical and standing up at the blueline. The Rangers' D just let the Leafs fly by them every rush. Also, the goals were just bad reads and missed assignments. Del Zotto/Nash on the JVR goal, Girardi on the last Kessel goal, Del Zotto again on the O'Byrne goal.

Give the man an eye patch. If it's still all for naught, we could still have an "Escape from NY" showing on Garden ice.
