People hate when others bring up supposed "whipping boys." Tonight, there is 0 defending for DZ and Girardi.

Mostly MDZ, but yea. I normally would defend him, but man... not tonight. Both of them - especially MDZ - were brutal. Both on the ice for 3 goals against, and all 3 were absolutely ****ing dumbass mistakes.

We do not have enough offensive depth in this lineup. What has Brassard's line done at even strength? Nothing. He and Hags are saddled with Brian (i am truly useless) Boyle and nothing good happens. Richie's line had chances but couldn't bury it.

Ryan McDonagh is the player of the game; unbelievable game from him. And Michael Del Zotto tried to prove that he is not able to carry top D minutes when the opponent can score. But Torts is a big part of this. there is not enough depth in this lineup and guys are being double shifted in the 3rd and they just didn't have the legs to finish the job.

What is the point of putting out Richie, Clowe and Nash after the tying goal? When have these guys played together? What happens? Defensive breakdown. Game over. That was a huge shift and he puts out a makeshift line that is defensively suspect and we don't even get to play tied for any time at all. Huge mistake by the coach. John Moore should play more.

Girardi and Del Zotto needs to be demoted in ice time and let Moore take over more. After so many **** ups, why the mother ******** **** would you put Michael Del Zotto on the ice right after the game tying goal? You put the guys on the ice to shut down the game and trap and wait for opportunities and let Nash and Stepan do the work until the period is over. Why put Girardi and Del Zotto on the ice? Does John Tortorella not think? I know the guys (McD Law) are tired but the way that pairing was playing... why are they getting so much ice time and why aren't they split up?

Kind of off topic here, but Zucc really needs to get some more points. He plays like an 80+ points scorer and for his sake should at least have a few more by now.

If he keeps playing this way they will come. He made some really nice plays including that last pass where Steps broke his stick. He also broke up multiple breakout plays by the Leafs.

DZ and Girardi were horrendous tonight. Staal needs to come back yesterday. This is why people scoff when someone says we should trade him. Staal is our best dman get it through your thick skulls.

it was good by him driving to the net but hes been MIA since he was taken off of nash and stepan's line. im not bashing him, just an observation.

Also, this loss isn't only on our dmen. Our forwards were AWFUL when it came to dzone coverage tonight.

On two goals we had four rangers clumped up together. Three of which were forwards. Its ****ing mite hockey. Spread out, pick a guy without the puck, and lift his stick. How hard is that? And don't say easier said than done, because if you've played any type of competitive hockey you'd know how easy it was as long as youre not a lazy ****.

Hagelin plays with Boyle. Hagelin creates space out there for people to make plays (see Nash's goal). Brassard makes plays. Boyle dumps and doesn't use either of what those two do best to his advantage.

Sorry, I don't complain about the refs often, but they were definitely calling to the home crowd tonight. The Phaneuf dive, phantom high stick, countless no calls on guys like Phaneuf and Fraser who if they got called for the clutching and grabbing they do wouldn't even be in the NHL.

Thought overall the Rangers outplayed the Leafs but their defensive gaffes, mainly by MDZ, Girardi and Stralman who made SEVERAL turnovers. Del Zotto can not be playing top pairing minutes.

This. Outside of Del Zotto playing like garbage, the refs were bad, as were the linesmen. I thought attempted passes were NOT icing. It seemed like every time the Rangers attempted a pass through the neutral zone, the play was called an icing. I honestly did not think that was supposed to be icing.

Also seemed like there were some weird caroms and bounces that all seemed to go Toronto's way.
