K’Andre Miller who has had 2 bad shifts that didn’t even lead to goals against and has only been playing defense since age 16. … incredible stop on a 2 on 1 today and embarrassed Jamie Benn yesterday with a fantastic athletic play: dumb player, low IQ, should be in the AHL

Miller and Trouba played really well overall last night, period. A defender being mistake free must be as rare as a pitcher getting a no-hitter.

Also, our D tries to move the puck at a high cost. When we create chances, get prolonged shifts offensively, just get up ice — take note of how often those plays are preceded by a low margin play in the defensive zone.

It comes with the territory that low margin plays results in turnovers. You pull the plug on our offense if we do away with those plays.

We now get the narrative that it’s “dumb” to try it. That narrative is dumb.

Gallant might hate press conferences more than Torts.
Getting that same vibe. They must of had pressers in Columbus, Florida and Vegas; no?
It seemed in the beginning he was doing okay but the last few he’s been doing that sighing thing where it gives the impression that he thinking “I am not enjoying this”.

I don't think anyone mentioned it but after Montreal had all the momentum a ton of chances and finally tied the game up, crowd going nuts, Rangers shut them up only a few minutes later then held on for the rest of the period.
How often has that happened the past 3 years?

There have been many whispers that Georgiev isn't very popular amongst his teammates.
I'm aware of those "whispers" -- I don't recall ever seeing anything specific between the two.

You won't. Shesterkin is not the type to engage in public outbursts. You just need to look at body language and complete lack of communication between the two. I don't think Georgiev is a jerk or anything; he is intense and in his mind he's competing for a starting goalie position. Which can't be further from reality.

Dobby could be actually. Holtby, Bishop and Oettinger as the heir apparent. All the vets are older. Oettinger has shown solid potential and they need to move toward the future. Dobby could probably shake free. I know Bishop’s health is up and down but he was supposed to be close to ready. Also I thought Holtby signed a two year. Dobby seems like low hanging fruit.
Holtby is such a hot and cold goalie. He is amazing when he is on, but can sink a team real fast. Khudobin is a better goalie, but he is getting old and the work load of a full season is not an option. If he is available, he needs to be here. Our goalie "duo" is not an ideal situation by any means.

Millers gaffe in the third led directly to the only goal Montreal scored.

WTF was he doing on the far right of the zone going below the goal line??
That’s a good question
I can’t answer it because I really can’t see the whole ice that well.
Did Sam and/or Joe address it? I don’t know because I always try not to listen to them if possible.

It's our 3rd game of the season. Things will be sloppy occasionally.

If we're sloppy in the 10-15th game, there's cause for concern. KAM Trouba have been good. There's an expectation that defense need to be PERFECT in every scenario. That's just absurd and unrealistic.

The lone goal IMO is a bunch of bad plays. Yes, KAM was on the right side. Trouba followed a non-puck carrier behind the goal line and fell in the process and picked off KAM. McKegg literally looked at the guy all alone in the slot and vacated. Where were the wingers? Once Trouba fell, it's goes from awkward scenario to disaster. It was really a team failure.

He was following his man behind the net and got picked (though it didn't look intentional), no one picked up Druoin (Trouba was late getting back or a forward didn't do it)

I think people here focus on every little mistake in a game so much they don't see the big picture. There's mistakes by everyone on the team, some end up in the net, some don't, they are all still mistakes. Who makes them seems to mean more to some than the actual mistake. I mean Lundkvist has had a predictablly terrible start, but here we are on Miller. Nemeth hasn't been very good either. Our top 4 has been good, the bottom pair hasn't.
Sometimes you gotta look for some positives from time to time and and stop focusing on the negative because for 99 percent of that game Miller was a positive.

Why does Kreider have like no votes? 3 goals in 3 games, his presence infront of the net is the only reason we've been able to score except for that 2 on 1 tonight with Laffy which was amazing and great to see.

Because that has nothing to do with CF% and xGLORF per 60, peasant!
