6 games 9 days …yotes were ready…With Yzerman coming to town after Santa wonder if something brewing. Georgie, Hayek, Filip, Kravtsov plus for Dylan?

It'll take a combination of getting Blais/Kravtsov back + Gallant understanding his players and deploying them better + a few kids stepping up to the next level to become a 3 line team. Gallant can likely find 2 lines by the end of the season and when push comes to shove, he'll do what it takes (sandwich line, telling 93 to go f*** himself) but it'll take a lot of work to get to a 3 line team and maybe even a 4th line that has a consistent mojo.

A deadline acquisition to look for that is almost guaranteed. kravtsov is the ultimate wild card at this point.

Kravtsov is the ultimate douchebag at this point.

Gross game but clearly they are tired and playing shorthanded, i give them credit for finding a way to win, even if it doesnt feel great. With 2 games in 11 days before DET comes in, id hold Igor & Panarin out until after Christmas. They've put themselves in good position with their start to be cautious with them

Couldn't care if Georgiev is a douche (not saying he is). He's been playing well and that's all that matters. Don't care if he doesn't hug Shesterkin after a big game or not.

I think we need to compare Georgiev making a spot start to WINkaid making a spot start. And WINkaid is comparable. Georgiev just doesn’t have the experience to come off the bench cold and do his thing. Guys just need to be in appropriate roles and I think WINkaid is more suited to playing once every ten days. It’s the same reasoning we don’t want a promising young player splitting time between the press box and the fourth line.
Eh... I sincerely disagree with this. I hate Georgiev and he's played terribly, but I think you're going to win far fewer games with Kincaid as the backup over Georgiev.

I look at Kincaid and I see an AHL level talent. I look at Georgiev and I see an NHL level talent with some mental issues. Pick your poison I guess.

But if you play against a really capable team, I think Kincaid gets trounced most of the time similarly to Huska against the Avs. And if you get to a shootout, I do not think Kincaid will ever get you that extra point. With Georgiev, I give him like a solid 50% shot of winning based on what I'm seeing this year. He already won one shootout in fact.

I see a pretty wide gulf in athleticism and technique here. Neither inspires confidence. But Georgiev has a much higher ceiling and both have the same floor (terrible).

Kincaid sucked. That goal that Hajek saved squeezed through him, the first goal squeezed through him, he did stop a mediocre breakway attempt from a guy that was knocked off balance, but Georgiev the way he's playing now is better.

Yep. Could've been 2-0 very quickly with two 5-hole goals on shots that had no business going in. Hajek bailed out Kincaid BIG TIME. He's not NHL-caliber.

I was just thinking that with our luck, Mika will get red hot 10 days before the Olympics. Then the players won’t want to go because COVID and then there will be a break and he will come back ice cold again.
I'll take it. At least we would be on a hot streak at least once this season.

For a Rangers fan, what could be better on a Wednesday night, than having a comeback win late in the 3rd period? I can't think of a better way to win or have fun than hearing Sam's iconic call,... It's a Powerplay Goal!

Let's thank the Yotes for the Too Many Men with 3 minutes to go. LOL
No we need to be depressed about this mid december game where we won and act as if it has any bearing on anything that might happen come April

I don’t agree. this was a bad team and we looked horrendous.

it’s a problem how mediocre we’ve looked against quality teams, and we have a big stretch of it coming up in January. We need to improve. We need to play better. I’d rather miss the playoffs entirely than get blown out in round 1.

I mean, a win is a win, but that's the kind of rhetoric that should be applied to a contending team coming off one bad game, or even a cold streak.

The Rangers problem is that they are displaying their fatal flaws. We are seeing why the team shouldn't just shrug this off as a hitch and that they will return to being competitors.

They are showing they don't have enough forward young skill yet to BE contenders at the end of the season.

It shows that the rebuild isn't near complete. Until Kakko, Lafreniere, Schneider, Jones, and likely Robertson, Lundkvist and Othmann are ready we wont be a cup team, keep your picks, add cheap pieces, ie Blackwell and continue to grow and learn. We werent going from missing the playoffs to winning the cup in one year, need some patience.

We also need Kravtsov back, or an equivalent, and we need another young top center.

Panarin - Zibanejad - Kakko
Lafreniere - Strome - Reilly Smith
Kreider - Chytil - Kravtsov
Hunt - Rooney - Goodrow

This. I swear some of the folks on this board make excuses for wins. I don't know another fan base like this. For a lot of you I'm pretty sure wins just aren't what you're rooting for...you'd rather get to be right about "pizza boy" doing bad asset management tor something.

I'd rather the pizza boy build an elite young team than a second round playoff exit 30 year old team.

When you have Sid as your leader you never go away, this team is missing a guy who brings it every night and expects everyone else to as well like he does.

Hope Lafreniere is that type of player eventually - even if less top end points, but maybe more health.

Not for nothing I see teams going thru Covid issues. No one ever felt sorry for us. We didn’t have it hit all at once but

trouba
Kakko
Chytil
Mika
Fox
Mckegg
Rooney
Strome
Kinkaid

that we know of. I believe I read Lindgren too

all had it already. And again that’s the ones we know of. Between vaccinations and the fact we had so many guys have it already you’d hope knock on wood the worst is behind us here while other teams go thru it

I'd take Reilly Smith any day on this team but you've got to be kidding if you think Gallant is only going to give him 3rd line minutes and certainly not ahead of Kravtsov.
