It is December 15th. This team has room to improve, yes. But a team that continues to finds a way to win, and collect points, shows management they should add at the deadline to the group and make it deeper. Fix some of the holes. The team will look different come round 1.

It shows that the rebuild isn't near complete. Until Kakko, Lafreniere, Schneider, Jones, and likely Robertson, Lundkvist and Othmann are ready we wont be a cup team, keep your picks, add cheap pieces, ie Blackwell and continue to grow and learn. We werent going from missing the playoffs to winning the cup in one year, need some patience.

Injuries and hardships is how teams improve. Panarin goes out and Zibanejad reclaims his confidence on the left circle on the PP. Kakko gets onto the PP and pots 2 goals. We've been stale for a good while now. Panarin's short term injury will let him rest up overall until after Christmas. In the meantime, Stubborn Gerard will have to try and evaluate Strome and Hunt independently of Panarin and think of a way to utilize the members of the kids line 2.0 in a better way than simply sticking 3 good kids with incomplete games together and hope they figure it out, somehow.

It'll take a combination of getting Blais/Kravtsov back + Gallant understanding his players and deploying them better + a few kids stepping up to the next level to become a 3 line team. Gallant can likely find 2 lines by the end of the season and when push comes to shove, he'll do what it takes (sandwich line, telling 93 to go f*** himself) but it'll take a lot of work to get to a 3 line team and maybe even a 4th line that has a consistent mojo.

A deadline acquisition to look for that is almost guaranteed. kravtsov is the ultimate wild card at this point.

would love to see laf stay with strome and put kakko on the other wing. kakko and laf compliment each other well and seem to be on the same wavelength in how they see the ice / play the game.

move gauthier up with mika / kreider. ton of size / speed, and two guys who's straight line game won't be impacted by mika being all over the place.

Holy f*** what an awwwwwful game by the Rangers, but 2 pts is 2 pts. Let Panarin rest and see how the forced lineup shuffle shakes things up. We need the damn Christmas break NOW!!!

Just look at Kinkaids interactions with the team compared to Georgievs, says it all. Get that weird piece of shit off the team now, Kinkaid proved he can play. Isn’t one of the biggest losers in the league too so that’s a plus.

I have to say and totally agree on the bold, the boys were genuinely happy for Kinkaid post game. You could almost feel it with the way they were all congratulating him.

But I truly don't think he's better than Georgie, I get it you don't like him but Georgie has been 100% dialed in since Igor going down. But don't take that as me advocating to keep Georgie.

Georgiev needs to go to a team that doesn't currently have a Henrik or Igor in a #1 spot or an aging starter, where he can have a legit arm wrestle for a starting position - then it's sink or swim buddy.

Cheers man!

Before anyone complains about the struggle against Arizona…

A win is a win is a win.

It’s especially a win when the team has hit a small snag here, with Igor out and in this particular game Panarin out. The team has looked like they are going through the motions the last few games. Not imposing some of their will that has made them successful and swung momentum/possession in games to lead to more offense. Their offense has looked inept.

So to come away with the 2 points is huge. Its a long season. As long as they keep these snags or rough patches to a minimum, they will be fine.

This. I swear some of the folks on this board make excuses for wins. I don't know another fan base like this. For a lot of you I'm pretty sure wins just aren't what you're rooting for...you'd rather get to be right about "pizza boy" doing bad asset management tor something.

This is the nhl. Good teams struggle with and sometimes lose to bad teams. Tamps got its shit pushed in by Ottawa the other day. It happens. Getting bailed out sometimes by a good PP, a couple of lucky bounces, a hot goalie, etc is exactly what the good teams do every year.

What the reasoning might be behind schooling Chyt scratching him for a game like this? "See how sh*t they are, you can make em better simply by playing - imagine the places you can go by trying a bit more?"
