Zibanejad and Tarasenko have some slick chemistry. If they keep it up, and Kane and Panarin continue where they left off from 6 years ago, the Devils will have their hands full defending against this club. Gallant could just throw them out there on back to back to back shifts and eventually the Rangers will have their way.

This is a series that will happen under the current format but wouldn't happen with the 1 vs 8...

I hope this is as good better than the Kings and Ducks in 2014. These really close rival games are awesome

Sounds so easy. Why even play the series? Maybe after they can figure out the formula to beating ottawa.

The devils literally have better players than all four of them that actually drive play 5 on 5. In fact their top two lines do that with out meier, and with meier it could be that much more dominant.

This ignores the devils have Bratt, Meier, Hischier, and Hughes. indomt expect the rangers two has beens and two PP merchants to run circles around the better top six and very good 5 on 5 team at 5 on 5.

The rangers def have a dangerous PP. Work of art how they can move the puck on it.

acting like the devils don’t have Bratt, Meier, Hischier, or Hughes lmao. That’s not including, Mercer, Tatar and palat who are all good as well. Silly me, two has beens and two PP merchants will run circles around the better top six and have their way with a team that drives 5 on 5 play like crazy and has a solid defense.
I’ll admit the Devils top 9 is deep and pretty potent. But we all know (because weve seen it) that regular season success doesn’t always carry over to the playoffs. There will be upsets. This is a NJ squad that hasn’t been in the playoffs since, what, when they went to the cup final with Kovalchuk? I think NJ will be super nervous come game 1 and 2 and I could see the Rangers taking the first two games. By then NJ are in a hole and this is where experience comes into play. We don’t know how this NJ core will perform in the playoffs because nobody has ever seen this core in the playoffs yet. Whereas the Rangers road to the final 4 last year will likely remain fresh and recent on their entire roster.

And that is an outcome that Rangers fans should be hoping for, to be honest. They have a much better shot against Carolina.

That’s how I feel also, no diss to Carolina who are a very good team, I just like the match up better. Devils are scary this year , no question.

Also if the Devils win their 2 games in hand on the Rangers, it’s a 10 point gap in the standings. But hey, hands down the Rangers are going to destroy the Devils I guess.
Lmao quit whining. Go out there and win the series. The little boys of Hudson will be taken far more seriously after that.

This is why people hate Rangers fans.

The "Little boys of the Hudson" have won 3 cups since your last one. They beat the Rangers in 6 the last playoff meeting so I guess they didn't deserve to be taken seriously after any of that.

"Hey, stop talking about the current standing, no no no, don't talk about the past either"

K, Devils jersey's have cooler colors than Rangers, it's gunna be a great series if they meet, hope everyone has fun.

Is that alright to talk about? I'm enjoying the thread, but your whining is a bit much.

How did imply to stop talking about the standings? I literally said ”go out and win the series”. Is that alright to talk about? You guys are so desperate holy shit.

I'm a Devils fan but totally acknowledge that this is really new for this team. They are winning for the first time in a long time.

Who knows how the younger Devils will react under the most intense pressure they've ever seen?

Young and inexperienced is sometimes a detriment but sometimes it's a huge benefit. Not knowing any better coupled with youthful exuberance can carry a team pretty far.

We'll see

But my thought is the Rangers just can't skate with the Devils. Watch the Devils, there aren't many teams that skate with them....New Jersey skated through Colorado the other night who was on a 6 game win streak and skated through everyone they met last year in the playoffs... Unless the refs put away the whistles I can't see the Rangers keeping up over 7 games.

The Devils are way too fast for the Rangers, but if it comes down to goalie the Rangers have a significant advantage there.

I think the X factor that swings the series either way is Dougie Hamilton because he was a TERRIBLE playoff performer in Carolina, and needs to prove otherwise. Devils have a lot of guys who have a history of not matching their regular season performance in the playoffs; especially at defense. But the Devils win this series if this is a high scoring series and the Rangers win this series if it is a low scoring/tight series

I also think this series may not even happen because Devils May win the metro.

Only chance we got is if Louis Domingue plays round 1 clearly, just like how that was the Rangers only reasoning for beating the Penguins

It’s unfair how stacked the Rangers are.
