Berard seems very mature & confident, it's a long shot but I'd love for him to crack the Rangers lineup this season. Probably the best skater in our system, he was electric in his first U20 WJC; not so great this last one though.

Considering the competition they are facing here, the guys I expect to stand out based on talent, age, and physique, are:

Brennan Othmann
Brett Berard
Adam Sýkora
Jaroslav Chmelař
Gabriel Perreault

Them being dominant and shining in this setting is not a bad thing. Let me clear that up. But it's not a sign of something special per se either.

I am really curious how Othmann, Berard and Sýkora do in pre-season.

Chmelař and Perreault won't be allowed to join the Rangers for pre-season camp due to NCAA regulations.

Did I ever say they cared about you? The Dolan's are super wealthy corporatists very much interested in the bottom line. They do their charity stuff etc. but like others of the super wealthy they're use to picking and choosing for you. If you're asking me Eat the Rich. If you're so pissed about it stop buying all the jerseys and chasing prospects all over the globe.

As far as your complaint here are you really surprised when they haven't done anything like it for years? I mean WTF! Expected behavior.

In fairness, all team owners are super wealthy. You can be super wealthy and be a good team owner while still caring about the bottom line. It doesn’t have to be exclusively one or the other.

We should continue to call it out as it presents itself, but I doubt anyone here finds it surprising. The funny thing is that it wouldn’t take all that much to create a more fan friendly situation. They just don’t need to go down that road so they don’t.

Not that I’d call the Johnsons great owners by any stretch of the imagination, but they at least have the “Take Flight” series on YouTube. It gives you some fun background on the personalities, draft, etc… It shouldn’t be too difficult to make some funny player videos, interviews etc every now and again. Maybe once a month do a 10 minute introduction video to a new prospect … not asking a lot here.
