This guy is a project but I'm willing to wager he's an NHL player at some point
What makes you say that?

I think it's just a matter of HOW MUCH of a steal, TBH. He's legit.Sykora and Gilbert looking good at camp. Gilbert could turn in to a steal.

I will stop. Sorry. Think people who were fans in the 70's-80's would understand why that is the name I think ofCan we not call him Gilbert? It's throwing me way off
Too bad we will have to wait 2-4 years to see how him as a NYR.I think it's just a matter of HOW MUCH of a steal, TBH. He's legit.

following Beliveau, preceding Mario,I did see Yanic play but Gilbert is before my time
Gilbert was a special player. He centered the "French Connection" line. He could skate and stickhandle. He would put on a show on the ice at times.I did see Yanic play but Gilbert is before my time
Hmmm what about our Jean?following Beliveau, preceding Mario,
THE tall skilled Quebecois Centre
(in early '70's, 6'1 was still considered tall ...)
Defensive player of the year in his conference as a freshman is nothing to sneeze at for one. Seems to have the skating and frame needed to carve out a career as a bottom pairing PK specialist from the reports I've read. Offensive upside is limited but the tools are all there. What makes you say that?
As a Ranger fan who had season tickets for 25 years despite living all over the country, I will tell you flat out that he Rangers do not treat fans anywhere remotely as well as other teams. And it does matter…it matters a lot. I’ve also had season tickets to four other NHL teams at various times and all have attributes that would serve the Rangers well. Not only that, many fans, even on this board, will tell you you are being entitled. That the Organization doesn't owe you anything. Etc. It is a very weird mentality that has become prominent over the last few years in many areas regarding business, access, fandom, etc. We are fans. We are the paying customer and it isn't entitled or whiny to consider the Rangers' "fan-service" as absolutely sub-par. Especially when the financial might of the team is considered.
People are happy to have shit rubbed in their eyes so as not to seem too "needy". Haha

100% that falls on Dolan. The owner sets the policy and tone of the team and Dolan is a shithead even by billionaire standards. As a Ranger fan who had season tickets for 25 years despite living all over the country, I will tell you flat out that he Rangers do not treat fans anywhere remotely as well as other teams. I was just playing around and reminiscing. Sorry it bothered you. I will stop.I saw Gilbert play but think it’s ridiculous to call this kid Gilbert
From my experience, Tampa is a much more engaging and customer oriented. As a Ranger fan who had season tickets for 25 years despite living all over the country, I will tell you flat out that he Rangers do not treat fans anywhere remotely as well as other teams. I live in LA and prefer going all the way out to Anaheim to see Ducks games because the customer service and family friendly atmosphere is top notch. Kings aren't bad but Ducks just go above and beyond. A few years back I went to Ducks/Rangers game and my son and I were going to the elevator to get to our not so close seats and some rep just walked up to my son and gave him a pack of Ducks hockey cards. It wasn't hockey card night. He wasn't even wearing Ducks gear. They just care about creating fans. It's the little things. From my experience, Tampa is a much more engaging and customer oriented.
